Yeah that is my daughter and wife :). Dora is a great program "ahola" :)

I have 4 screens that if you want to move from one to another you can either just select it or use the cube effect :) I prefer the cube :)

the 4 screens are
main
programming
music
testing ( like virtual box etc for virtual machines )

I just really like my setup so much easier than having 4 real screens dotted around and also saves on power :)

does anyone else have a video of there desktop ?

No point in having a video for mine. Basic black background, no frills or jiggly bits. :)

Had an issue with saved files/etc going behind the dock so right click, arrange by, uncheck show desktop icons, then made a desktop shortcut on the rocketdock...
works I guess..

So here's a theoretical question: If you could have only one of the following, which would it be? A single 30 inch wide screen monitor or dual 24 inch monitors?

Myself, I think I'd go with the dualies. One big ass monitor is cool, but there is just an extra bit of coolness with a pair of monitors.

I've already got dual 22's on my work machine, so I'd go with a 30 to replace the 19 on my personal machine. :)

...and yes, having 3840x1080 across two flat screens is kind of fun.

I'd rather have one monitor above the other.

I personally would have 1 monitor and just have multiple screens on it, saves the eyes moving to much lol and also the mouse lol

a big at that thou.

Mine is a laptop at present with a 20" screen when they say it was a desktop replacement they really meant it lol it just makes it easier to move up and downstairs lol

XP, modified as follows..

Windows Blinds (worth the $20ish if you stare at stuff for 40 hours a week imo, and seems to work flawlessly, I know there are freebies out there that modify..) using Novum OS theme (the leaf and black bars on any "themeable" window, outlook isn't, but firefox is)

Rainmeter (free) with some HUD.Vision meters for date/cpu/network.

Background Dark Wood

RocketDock (free, never tried objectdock, it costs $$) with Lucid Icons.

I was debating on fences pay version since you can create a fenced area that will "catch" any new files so they don't fall behind the dock. I had fences in beta but it didn't have that ability, so uninstalled it.. was frustrating having to move icons, so don't get the free if you expect that capability.
Instead, for now, I created a desktop shortcut on dock, and right click desktop, arrange by, unchecked the show desktop icons.. now no clutter on desktop even with 10 or so files stored there on roaming profile.

Deviantart is where I get backgrounds/icons check out some

May I suggest you remove your taskbar since you're using a dock...

Other than replacing your taskbar with your dock as I mentioned above, Stardock Fences is free for personal use.

True but the version that auto grabs new files on desktop isn't. I tried fences for a few months, and I found myself dragging all new downloads and such around. /shrug.

I leave the taskbar up because not all my programs are on dock (have to remove them) so can't use its minimize feature. Unless.. I run two docks.... hmm.
