I love technology!

I've played guitar since I was ten, and this Rocks! (Gibsons have always been my favs, too -- even though I own an Ibanez)

I used to have a NICE Washburn.I quit playing after it got stolen.

There's no way I'd drop a couple of grand or more on a Gibson just to watch it end up with the same fate as the Washburn (which also cost me well over a grand).

I hear that AXE -- I spent a little over a grand on my Ibanez. I love it...thin body mohogany, cherry neck IBZUSA pickups Floating bridge, and it sounds pretty sweet. Here's a pretty crappy picture:

BTW -- the Amp behind it is a classic. Old Kustom 100 piggy-back with that cool pleated black padding. Bought that back in 1969 with $200 of paper route money. The only thing that went bad all this time is the reverb is shot, but the DigiTech RP1 DSP and Peavey Rockmaster Tube Preamp make up for that loss. Serial number on that old beauty is in the 33,000 range and if I recall correctly it was manufactured in 1964

*lol -- I'll have to learn how. Truthfully, I need to relearn to play. Haven't touched it much the last couple years. If I can relearn the Eric Johnson "Cliffs of Dover" I used to be able to play, I'll try to put it in an MP3 for ya, but don't expect it anytime soon. I used to do a lot of Satriani stuff and an occaisional Stevie Ray, but I've lost my chops, and need to start from scratch.

I used to have about a half dozen Satriani pieces down, And love Vai, but just couldn't grasp his stuff. Stevie Ray I got "House is Rockin" and some of "Angel WIngs" but never got any further before I stopped an started concentrating on computers. I miss it though, and I have an invite to do some jammin this August, so I need to pick it up again and give it a rehash.

I did get it tuned last week, though. Thank God I have an electronic tuner...you know how hard it is to tune a floating bridge guitar! *lol

I actually play the bass guitar, but I do have an appreciation for cool technology, and that is deffinitly neat. Its a really good idea. I cant even imagine what it will be like when they finnaly do a bass like that. I love the fact that you can have different effects on different strings. That adds a whole new level of versatility.

lol. Didgeridoo's are cool.
I know someone that actually went to Africa to get an "original." He came back with a brand name on the inside at the bottom of the tube.

Actually, that has been my discovery. It seems to take forever to get it tuned right, but once it is, it' takes a rocket scientist to knock it out.

I had it stay in tune for almost two years once with only a few minor tweaks...I totally agree with you on that one.

What's a Didgeridoo? Is that synonymous with D'Addario or what? I thought I was talking guitar strings and tuning for a moment, but looks like things got sidetracked.

didgeridoo - a pipe made of wood. Its a traditional aboriginee (sp?) instrument. I just mentioned it as another one of my musical endeavours that failed lol.

Why africa. Why why why? Australia to get an original. Plus its a tube of bamboo, with a bit of wax on the end lol.
