so has anyone nuked any cash yet? did the right eye explode?

I remember in 98 I bought a Tool Cd (undertow) at walmart. The band had to change their album art for that store over some such contreversy, so the new art was a bar code. It set off an alarm with some robotic sounding voice telling us to step back for customer service to assist us. That is the first time I had ever heard anything like that and suddenly my world got smaller.

A ZDNET article on RFID:

That is a pretty interesting article. I am sure that it has a lot of good uses...but so does plutonium. I love technotlogy, but I am wary of this one in some ways. Am I going to have to purchase some spyware removal technology in the future to get rid of an RFID cookie that wal-mart planted on me as I left the store?

Guess in a couple of years we should get used to it

I seem to remember a similar fuss about UPC's when they first came out and the noted fact that they all apparently contain the numbers 666.
