eBay and Paypal emails

I have been pretty inactive on both eBay and Paypal in recent months/years. Recently i decided i was going to advertise my car for sale on eBay and a few other items. Since the items auction ended i have been getting random emails from both eBay and Paypal advertising several services etc etc on a daily basis.

I don't particularly want to unsubscribe to each email service as sometimes the emails can be good, however these emails are a little bit unwanted. I was actually wondering it it might be because i am now showing some activity they are now emailing me or if it was happening to every registered member on both sites?

eBay sends e-mails to all account holders regardless of if they were very active or not active. As for Paypal, they, I think select account holders based on their activity.
