does an emac support 5.1 audio?

if not, does it have a pci slot where you can insert a sound card?

I do believe that the emac only supports stereo sound. I think it's dumb that mac's are used mostly in the media department, yet they dont have much support for sound. As far as I know, the emac is like the imac in that they dont support any sort of card except airport. Even the big towers require a special audio card to run 5.1. You might look for some sort of peripial that deals with 5.1, I think there are a couple that exist.

well, it looks like the new g5 has 5.1. Shell over 1800 bucks, and you can have a nice sound from your computer!
