For playing sports... tennis is my favorite by far. Golf is probably my second favorite.

For watching sports I would say football, baseball, and tennis.

I LOVE watching Football (NRL) and going to the games! I'm a real male when it comes to footy...
I love seeing my cousin dance too since I used to play it as a little girl and I used to play netball but now I'm a bum and my sport is chasing my girl around the house LOL

Playing: Lacrosse, Hockey (and to a lesser degree) Soccer, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee
Watching: Women's Mud Wrestling( :D ), Lacrosse, Soccer.

I get bored watching Football and Basketball, and I only can stand watching Baseball when I'm actually at the park. I don't mind playing those, but I prefer being able to hit people with things... When you look at code all day, you gotta get your aggression out somehow! =]

I tried fencing in when I was in college, but I'd studied kenjistu (basically Kendo without all the armor, if you're not familiar) previously, so I had problems with the don't-pass-shoulders thing. It was definatly a lot of fun though. Plus, I was teaching a Kenpo class at the time, and by the time the fencing class came around (right after my class) I was too tired to hold the foil... heh

Fencing (been what, 6 years?)
shooting and running are fun

I don't like watching sports, to boring. (mind you I will always watch "the greatest <insert the collision type of the sport> of <sprot>" anytime)

I can't believe I haven't seen womens volleyball on here ?!? That's my favorite sport to watch and play (ok so i'm still watching more than playing but it's much more fun than being a spectator :P )

Other than that the sports i like to play really aren't your average sports i guess, things like downhill shopping cart racing, midnight parking lot wakeboarding (this could be a tie for favorite), rock climbing, deap sea fishing to name a few.

As for other sports I like to watch there's slamball (basketball with trampolenes), the most extreme elimination challenges (Don't Get Eliminated !!!!), NFL football, baseball every now and then.

I enjoy pretty much any activity where people compete, and there's only one sport where you always win...............womens volleyball :P

(As a side note, there is debate whether it's -jitsu or -jutsu. They mean the same thing, its a result of translation around how people pronounce the words. I generally pronounce it jutsu, but spell it jitsu. You'll see and hear it both ways though)

Technically, Kendo is a sport derived from Kenjitsu. The Japanese sufixes -do and -jitsu both literally translate to English as "way or path" really meaning method. The differences is, -jitsu is more like the warriors way. Many sport martial arts these days have -do endings, and are derived from -jitsu styles. For example, the samurai practived kenjitsu, which was simply how to kill fast and furiously with the katana (and the daisho). Kendo evolved from that though sporting competitions they would hold to show off their skills, and has become an art unto itself over the years.

Jujitsu was originally the style of combat the samurai learned to defend themselfs should they become disarmed. You can't punch and kick very well while in armor, after all, but you can twist arms off pretty well. Judo eventually evolved from this combat style over time in a similar was as Kendo.

The exception (that comes to mind), is Aikido. The -jitsu derivative Aikijitsu is an offshoot of Aikido that mixes in techniques of Jujitsu.

Class dismissed =]
