For everyone who has been waiting for the official release:
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/firefox3

The server is overloaded, obviously, but I did manage to find this mirror on reddit:

The Mozilla website is performing much better. I guess it took them some time to combat the surge of downloaders.

Check out:

It has all kinds of little tips and tricks to the new browser. I particularly like the one to set gmail to the default mailto: client. Fun fun fun!

Too bad I wasn't here earlier to see the mirror link. I started my download from mozilla.org about 2 hours ago and it's still on 45%, but I'm letting it continue... I'm not in a hurry, I already tried the beta.

And did you guys check out the world record thingy? Sounds cool... 4.5 million downloads so far. And you can even get yourself a certificate for being part of the community: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worl ... icate_form :D

I just saw on another forum that I'm part of (gaming forum), that by default, large images in phpBB2 footers are blocked to make it quicker ... that is really really cool ... because I don't want to see those image footers ... they bother me ...

And I just got my certificate.

What George? The topic is Firefox 3.

ContentKing, if you check out the link that kc0tma provided, there are instructions on how to restore the original address bar functionality.
