I thought I would post this because it is pretty odd. Apparently a lot of peoples cars gas gauges in town are sticking. This is causing a lot of people to run out of gas. This has happened to my wife.

I don't know what the hell it could be, but it sounds like something freaky. lol I think it is a conspiracy. Are anyone else from other cities having this problem?

here is a link to the site of the story

I saw that bit on the news last night. Personally, I haven't had any trouble yet.

Maybe there's a contaminate in the gas that is causing the actual sensor in the tank to malfunction. *shrug*

As a practical joke or for a more nefarious reason?

they're aliens dude - thats what they do. There's no reason for it their just alien. Probably the prelude to an invasion, sowwing confusion and distrust amongst the populus.

I have no idea but I think the idea of a dodgey "batch" of gas is most likely. Something corroding / damaging or whatever the sensors.

Still it is pretty weird

It's the whole Iraq thing I bet.
Taxes or whatever are forcing refineries to skimp on cleaning which leads to dirtier gas, the sensitve sensors are the first thing to pickup on the dirty gas, leading to sticking guages. Next people will realize they get less miles to the gallon then they used to, next they will notice that service intervals get shorter, people will start blaming mechanics for screwing up thier cars, prices of gas will continue to rise, and meanwhile whoever is getting the extra dough for theese rising gas prices is at the strip club putting the money dollar by dollar into the skimpy clothing of some chick that calls herself "Porche".

Now I ask you, is it the president that runs the country?
No.
Is it the first lady?
No.
Is it the gas companies?
No.
Well who is it you ask.
Chicks with car names.

This is my theroy.

lol. Makin me laugh too hard.
I personally think that there are little pandas in the gauges, who mess with them whenever your not looking. Then, when they are too big to mess with it any more, the mama panda (or papa, if hes not to drunk on Sake) comes and gets em'. It makes the most sense if you try not to think about it.

if you reset your trip odometer every time that you fill up your vehicle then you will be able to gauge how full your tank is by the mileage. Just a thought.

Even the good and highly modified cars we see around on the roads, have to call for tow trucks sometimes...

even my friend's mercedes head lights are working on an alternate basis.:-) heheh
