Post 3+ Months Ago

Hello there,

I've recently dived into getting paid for creating websites. I've noticed that the costs of websites are so pivoting. I wish not to overcharge anyone nor do I wish to get underpaid. So to all those with experience in this field can you tell me a little on your own rates?

Currently, I'm working on a fairly large site which is coded entirely in PHP. The template is also heavy on CSS. Actually, once you remove the CSS all you see is text in its rawest form. Some of the functions of this site includes:
> creating login,
> control panel for users/admin,
> inbox which also performs tasks like forwarding, replying, etc
> calculating pay rates,
> calculating ranks of users...
> forms which users submit to admin for revision
> creating searches

And tons more, all of which access a database. So far, I've coded 100 or so pages of PHP and this number should increase by about 50 or more pages until the site can finish.

For all the work I've done so far I'm definitely looking at more that $1500 US for the site.. Can anyone guide me a bit?

Thanks.

LOL. Thanks. I do hope someone with knowledge on this area responds. I'd love to have a little idea on where I should be heading price rise. Searching the web I see websites with unique prices of $2500+ US. It's nuts, seems sort of expensive.

Ballpark figure in England that could maybe be a grand (£1000) or more,

Depends on the skill level. Flash, CSS, HTML. all count towards the price.

Now I know why you laugh..US..tan their hide...like a big s-mac,,,lots of dollars - they kin afford it. Hey, that PHP stuff is hard to learn so cost the job well before hand, and agree a price first.
