I'm giving Twitter a try again

For some reason over the last few days i have been tempted to give Twitter a go again. The first time i registered to the site i discovered that it was nearly impossible to have a semi decent username that meant something because there was too many people using the site already, the site tended to perform painfully slow as well and generally the experience was off putting. Within 24 hours i deleted my account and went on my days.

I was thinking recently that there was something about twitter that obviously people loved that i was completely missing. So, just a few minutes ago i re-registered aiming to give the site a go once again. Thankfully in the year or so since i last registered the site has improved massively in terms of overall performance, also finding a username that was easy to remember and identify was so much easiler this time around.

I am wanting to see what people use Twitter for, to see what people love about the site. I hope to one day make the site work for me in the way it does for millions of other people around the world.

I was wondering if anyone here knew if there was any way you can integrate twitter updates to website logs such as drupal or wordpress. If so then this could work even better for me in the long run. Can anyone confirm if this is possible or not?

on how to have your website update your twitter feed. For ozzu we already have RSS Feeds here:

rssfeeds.html

So it was very easy to plug the headlines one into the twitter account. I believe WordPress already has RSS feeds built into it as well, so would be very easy to do.

I always swore to high heaven that I would never EVER do facebook. And now I have a facebook account because all my friends and family do it. I was driven to it mostly by that recent episode of south park though.
Like Mr Spork, I also write about my interest in alcoholic beverages.

You know what Twitter is good for ?

Status updates for websites that are experiencing unexpected downtime, or going through scheduled maintenance.

I have to admit that i have found it slightly strange yet pretty funny reading celebrity twitter feeds. I was actually just reading about two American soccer players who play in Scotland for a rival club and found it quite funny.

Despite this, i am still not tempted to follow any famous twitters. I just don't care enough i guess.
