I just realised you can change the angle of the view as well. instead of looking from dirrectly above you can look from the side.

I think this is one of my favorite fun applications now (second only to iSnooker)

Hello,
Saw this post and thought i give you a better view of your hood in England.
My company has the corporate version of google earth pro so i can get more detail on alot of areas.
Since Sept11 the military and homeland secuirty ask google to blur most military and nuclear sites so that is why so many are now blur.
Some members have the files save before they blur them out.
The high rez shots i can save are like 5 megs each so i reduce it to lowest settings.
Here are some shots on your hood.

I cant wait until you can see ships in the sea. Or until traffic can be watched real-time.

I didnt say they were live maps. They're just newly placed on Google Earth so now I can see more of my city in greater detail.

The photos of Massachusetts appear to be from 2001. The old football stadium at Foxboro is still standing and the new Gillette Field can be seen under construction. Some of the photos of my area in Boston are of a pretty good resolution. I can clearly see some of the neighbors cars in their driveways one street over from me, but my street and the area south of it are kind of blurry.

Making roads visible sure beats the hell out of Microsoft Streets & Trips, talk about actually knowing where you're going.

Heh, I'm not so sure in this case. When I check the box to show roads, it shows the empty lot across the street from me as a road connecting one street over. The lot starts out flat - with a few small boulders hidden by weeds - and then abruptly rises at at angle of about 75 degrees through a copse of trees and bushes. Some nutcase in a stolen SUV tried to make it up there a few years ago, and desperate as he was with the Boston Police in hot pursuit, he couldn't quite turn it into a road.

:D

OOh, sounds like fun. Who needs to watch 'Cops' on TV when you can just look out the window, huh?
I'd love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
