Helloooooooo!?!? Jessica?!?!

You are one of Ozzu's newer members and you've made a lot of great posts, helped a lot of people and generally been a good egg.

So, of course, I have some questions.

1. Education; Where are you at, and where are you going?

2. Tell us about your relationship - with pop-culture.

3. How did you find your way into Ozzu? What kept you here? What's your favorite category, and/or forum?

4. Age?

5. Tell us about hobbies you like that don't involve a computer.

6. Tell us about where you live.

7. Do you expect that I will ever return your dodgeball(TM) throw?

8. Tell us about your romantic interests.

9. Tell us about your best quality (real or imagined).

10. Who is your hero?

Please feel free to add your questions for Jess to my list. :D
Just remember, this thread is about Jess. Violators will be redirected to an alternate universe or held up to public ridicule, whichever comes first.

Thanks DM :) Now I had no idea this was coming so bare with me!

Quote:
1. Education; Where are you at, and where are you going?

I'm currently studying computer science and business management as part of a career development plan offered to me when I moved to the US from England.

I work as an Independant Business Development Manager - or in other words, people hire me to look at their companies current position and reccomend/implement any development opportunites they can exploit.

I'm hoping once I graduate from my course's that I will be in a position where I can work independantly and set up my own firm. *It's nice to dream*

The reality is i'll probably end up working full time as a business develpment manager for an e-commerce company while gaining the experience and funding to set up that firm :)

Quote:
2. Tell us about your relationship - with pop-culture.

My relationship with pop culture........ I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean - but if your asking do I like pop music? Well the answers No.

See, pop music is simply an exploitation of children who are too young to know any better. I recently heard a song on the radio (while in England) by a 13 year old artist, who was singing about love!! How can a 13 year old sing about something they havn't yet experienced? Its an exploitation.

Then theres the kids who look up to these people, i'm wondering how many little girls there are out there that now don't want horse drawn carriages and a big white wedding.... but want to get married in their tracksuits and eat hamburgers at their weddings........

If you have no idea what i'm talking about http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/09/ ... click=true <- see here.

Then theres the artists themselves. Demanding thousands of pounds for a single performance, demanding the dressing rooms be set up in a certain way, demanding this, demanding that.......

They earn millions ... and then they have the cheek to cry about the fact that some people download music online .... I saw a great southpark episode addressing this situation once - if you havn't seen it - I fully reccomend it.

*Lawyers Note* Im not supporting the download of illegal music - but rather just having a general moan about the artists being Divas :D

3. How did you find your way into Ozzu? What kept you here? What's your favorite category, and/or forum?

I came accross Ozzu through G. a few months ago. I was one of them stalkers for a while who read the posts but never posted myself. This was more down to the time factor than anything else. But I always came back to read the new threads as they were really interesting and I was able to take a lot of usefull information from them.

Then I was reading some of the threads in the seo/google forums and realised the information that was being given wasn't correct or was of no use - so I decided to make a few posts to help the guy and I got a bit carried away I guess.

Favourite categories are the seo/google forums *Idea: An online marketing forum in general would be great - I think it would allow people greater opportuity to discuss ways of promoting their sites other than seo.*

Anyhow - I also like the graphic design forum, as it gives me the opportunity to have a play and improve my own skills.

Quote:
4. Age?

I'm 17 years old - I turn 18 on the 4th October.

Quote:
5. Tell us about hobbies you like that don't involve a computer.

I love snowboarding. I have been doing it since I was 8. Over the years I have visited places like Switzerland, Andora, France and many more pursuing this hobby.

Since I moved out to the US I started learning surfing. The balance is very much the same as snowboarding so I don't think I do too bad. The waves are a bit bigger here than in England though Lol. :D

Quote:
6. Tell us about where you live.

I live in Miami Florida on a hill :) Im a little secluded from everyone which is nice as I have to meet and great people all day in my job.

It was a real eye-opener when I moved here from England though. Everyone is so pretty and perfect. It was like walking onto a film set.

Currently though due to weather conditions im staying with friends in Chicago.... feels like a million miles away from home, and im wondering if I am going to have a home to go back to heh.

Quote:
7. Do you expect that I will ever return your dodgeball(TM) throw?

No because yr a great big wimp hehe :D j/k

Quote:
8. Tell us about your romantic interests.

I left my boyfriend back home in England. I did offer him the opportunity to come out here with me but he wasn't up for it, so he stayed.

We keep in touch but just as friends now. Since being out here I havn't met anyone real special. I have some great friends and thats good enough for me :)

If any guy's interested im a pretty picky person *wouldn't have guessed hey?* :P I need to be treated like a princess..... but Im no diva! lol

Quote:
9. Tell us about your best quality (real or imagined).

I read the getting to know nucleo thread. Very interested in why he wanted to impress his teacher but thats for another day ;)
He said he wasn't able to tell people when things were pretty poor, he'd just say it looks good to be polite.

Well im probably the complete opposite to that. If something isn't good, i'll speak my mind and let them know. I think this is a good quality as people can always rely on me for the truth. I think its better than giving people false hopes.

However i'm not horrible with it - I actually did a course on it lol.
If you wan't to give someone good honest feedback without crushing them - you give them a praise sandwich.

i.e - say something good about the project/idea .... then tell them the bad bit, and end with something good.

"I love your hair, that dress makes you look like a whale but your shoes are lovely... " :P get the idea?

*looking back at all that I have written - i talk too much.... thats probably a bad quality.

Quote:
10. Who is your hero?

Out of all the questions this one has stumped me.........
I don't really think theres one person I look up to 100% other than my mom, & to give that as an answer would be a cop out.

While in England there was a group of fathers *Fathers For Justice* or something like that. Anyway they were campaigning for fathers to be given greater access rights to their children when marriages failed. I respect that group a lot, as I fully believe a child shouldn't have to grow up without their father/ or mother because their marriage didn't work.

The person who comes up with the cure for cancer would be my hero..... *straight from a beauty queen speech lol*

In other words, I look up to and take inspiration from a lot of people.

Quote:
11. Tell us about your current project?
12. Do you have a website online at the moment?. if so, how did you make it, and for what reason?

I'll combine these questions.
Currently, alongside studying and working I am setting up a site with a few respected friends.

http://www.ozami.com

It is still in development and their isn't anything to see there except a for a directory.

The bigger picture for Ozami is to become a portal for guy's on the net.
i.e - Every resource a guy could ever need would be found under one one web domain easily.

Obviously alongside the directory their would be free email / related news stories / forums / chat / all of the usual portal stuff.

Im currently in the process of developing a search algorithm, I should have it completed soon so look out for the Ozami bot's (4 of them) that will start to crawl the net for the search engine :)

I've hired a team of writers to produce content / articles / cover news stories / film reviews / along with a top girl to give relationship advice, etc.

The idea and the reason for creating Ozami, was that the internet is largely populated by males. Their isn't yet a resource that stands out as number 1 to fill the gap as a "guy's guide to the net"

Everything will stay clean, no pop ups/unders no dodgy enlargement orr viagra ads / everything just a click away from one web site.

Hopefully we can develop a cult following, then progress into the mainstream.

Well I hope you all have a better idea as to who I am and what I do. If I missed anything - ask away :P

Funny! I thought the exact same thing when I heard Avril Lavigne telling me that, "...life is like this". I think she was 15 or 16 when she recorded it.

Sounds to me like your business aspirations are well within your grasp. I'd call it a battle plan more than a dream.

Fantastic answers Jess! You are a really interesting person, interesting to me because of your age and how much you have accomplished so far - I can only imagine this will incresae over time and before long you WILL be running your own company. I agree with you on the diva thing, I've never been into that kind of music - or culture.

There was much greater opportunity for work out here for me. To be 17 years old in England and try and work in business development is unheard of, No company would give you the opportunity.

I had a company in the states who were interested in my ideas and offered to help me move. They helped me with my house, my education.... everything. It would have been very difficult to say no.

I left all my family and friends back in England though. Thats probably the worst thing about the whole move.

My mom and dad run their own company, I guess having seen them build it from the ground up and then expand, It did influence me in what Im trying to do now yes :)

They didn't really want me to move out here. i think the path for me, in their eyes was going to be working with them. But sometimes you have to do whats right for you.

Yeah, but what about the Snow Cones? I mean.. Come on.. What's a pretty girl compared to snow cones.. Not much.. Both run out of flavor and will melt for you.. Eventually, you will be done with it and have to throw it away and go get another one..

haha..

Yeah, think I am going to be booted from this club..

eh, Canada's most wanted is like 2 people..

Stephen Lynch's song This One's For The Ladies
Quote:
I kissed you on the cheek
Good night my love I say
You turned to me and smile
A baby's on the way.

And then you drift asleep
To dream of life anew
And I lie wondering
Just what I should do

I could kick you in the stomach
And catch you unawares
I could swear to God you accidently
Fell that flight of stairs

When I tell you that I love you
I will look you in the eye
As I slowly slide the hanger up your thigh.

heh.. Kinda inspires you...

I'm kidding..

How about... sending new ones randomly throughout the day while she's at work, in case the last ones lost their smell.
Better yet deliver them yourself, but don't just walk in there.. Disguise yourseslf as an older delivery man, get one of thoose vibrating things people have to use when their voicebox doesn't work & go on about how you lost your voice from throat cancer caused by smoking. Since women remember EVERYTHING you should probably go the whole 10 yards wearing gloves & all.

Tell her that you've been asked to recite the card by the sender personally (ought to be fun with that sound box...) & look at it while saying somthing from memory ending with "signed- NameHere", then place the card with the flowers & try to get out before she gets a chance to look at the card. In the card write "Don't tip the delivery man, he will be taken care of later. -NameHere"

See how many times you can pull this off before she starts asking questions about why the cards don't match what you said or she calls you, as the delivery man give outlandish excuses as many times as you can. If she calls you thanking you for the flowers or asking about the delivery man saying things not in the card insist that you never hired anyone to send flowers & if they come in again wait for them to read the card to see what they have to say this time, and call you right away.
Now go back but this time when you "read the card" do it without turning on the voicebox and actually read what's in the card this time, "It's time to take care of the delivery man."

Hopefully the reaction is really, really big eyes & an "i'm going to kill you" kiss, but there's probably some holes above that I have no reason to think through right now :)

Unless she is the boss it might be a good idea to plan this with them before hand, just in case she calls the cops on the delivery man.

I wasnt getting deffensive on you.
All i was saying, is you don't know me. As you mentioned and you right, I do not know you.

Heart, All I am ever - is me. Im not trying to be somehting i'm not, Im not trying to be something I dont want to be. And im not a whore.........

There! Did you see that neksus? I got some hagage from Jess..

I am a jerk Jess I know.. May be we can smoke a bowl and laugh at neksus.. I DID IT AGAIN!

My god! What's wrong with me? I have a real problem with "affection".. Whenever I did I would get it slammed in my face.. May be you can understand why I have such a hard time now.. I kind of hid it inside and expressed it like writing poems and such..

Yeah, I don't know if I can.. That's like asking me to jump off a cliff.. You don't understand.. I have really opened myself up to people in the past and had it completely slammed in my face every time.. Silly I know.. But, I feel stupid.. When you do it than it's cool.. When I do it I feel like a loser and stupid.. I can honestly say I haven't hugged anyone in about 10 years.. I have never kissed anyone and meant it.. That's how bad and how many times I got slammed..

*looks around*

*notices url isn't lavalife*

*sees that this is a message board*

I think you're taking that hug a little more deeply than it was meant...but on a more serious note, I hope you find it somewhere in yourself to someday get back to the point where being slammed doesn't matter.

You have no idea.. Haven't you even been in a long relationship and they end up screwing someone else or you just break up? You have a hard time seeing yourself with other people and need a lot of time to get over it because it just hurts sooo bad.. Even when you think you are over it you continue to get burned and burned again.. Well my burns run deeper.. Life wasn't that great to me so I set out to make myself happy but found out it only made it worse.. It's very scary stuff to me..

Breaths...... Gulp......... hug... Faints To The Floor

You owe me.. Even something that small was not easy.. :(

You all love me! You REALLY love me!

BUT WAITE... THERE'S MORE!

If you act now I will throw in a snow cone.. But, you must call now or else neksus and Jess will eat them all.. I will try and hold them back..

No guarantees.. All sales final, no exchanges or refunds..

Snow cones may cause some side affects such as cold mouth, brain freeze, or color changing tongue.. See your doctor to make sure Snow Cones are right for you..

Yeah, but you have to admit my slogan is pretty nifty.. I am not stealing anything.. I wish I had a dollar for every time you hugged the "Anti-Jess Fan Club President".. I would be one dollar richer..

I am only trying to steal Jess to cross over into the enemies lines and become a gold member at the "The Heart By Choice Fan Club"..

But just imagine what amazing things we can accomplish if we combine our powers.. By "our" I mean you..

Think it over...

Too bad you have no idea what you are talking about.. You don't know me and you don't know my past.. If you actually payed attention to my posts on the subject than you could of put 2 and 2 together.. If I was actually trying to pick up Jess, you wouldn't be able to tell.. Sometimes, smoothness is key.. You sound like the one who has a think for Jess..

the very fact that you have replied in the way that you have tells the story the way it is......and no, this piece of reverse psychology won't work:

lol.....no offense Jess..this isn't a personal attack on you but a generalisation of the situation.....but honestly heart.....i'm not that sad and desperate that i'd try and pull someone i don't even know from the internet....who lives miles away....where's the logic in that? :?: :?

Heart wrote:

what does your past have anything to do with it? that's exactly my point; i've read your posts, and you seem to be constantly making references to your 'past experiences' and Jess.....it's almost like you think there's some sort of online LDR thing going on between you

lmao....and the whole fuss about Jess giving you a hug.....what's all that about? it's an online hug mate....not a marriage proposal...

i've said it once and i'll say it again; this isn't an attack on you as a person heart.....but rather a reality check becuase it seems to me (and i'm sure i'm not the only one) that you're living in some kind of twisted version of noddyland.....and sorry if it's a bit blunt and direct......that's the englishman in me i'm afraid.....

Thank you Dr. Phil.. I forget some times how dumb people can be.. I don't like Jess in that way.. Why? She is TOO young for one.. You don't know our relationship.. I jump on her all the time because her personality seemed to clash with mine in a personal way.. I haven't even told her exactly why but her personality reminds me of someone that I don't like.. Just because all of you rejects flirt with her non stop and even MESSAGE HER? She tells me people message her all the time wanting to be FRIENDS? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? I have messaged her once only to say SORRY.. My god.. I argue with a girl and I am flirting? Do you sadly think that with everyone? I am arguing with you right now and you are arguing back.. OMG WE MUST LIKE EACH OTHER! You gay homo.. Do you understand how silly you are? You give me advice to go out and play the field? This is the main reason why I am at home online talking to lonely people like you.. I have played the fiend more than you can dream.. I know how to pick up girls better than you thought possible.. I dropped it because I just couldn't do it anymore.. I hated myself for the way I trieded girls just to get them into bed only to never hear from me again.. If you were ever able to 'Read Between The Lines' on my posts than you MIGHT of picked up on that.. I am pissed off because you are a new poster who thinks he has me all figured out and you suddenly become Dr. Phil with your lame advice before knowing the facts.. There, are you happy now that I had to spell it out for you? You pull my personal sh*t in my past and laugh at it? WTF is wrong with you?

Bah, you know what? Screw you.. I wish I could meet you in person.. You are the one who has the problems..
