1. How did you come across joining Ozzu.com?

The usual route, I guess. A google search for something. (I think it was adsense-related.)

2. Tell us about the city you live in.

Let me paint picture for you: imagine a grey sky with a watery old sun feebly peeking through the clouds; there's a persistent wind blowing in from the west, maybe some drizzle wetting your face; if you are quick, you might just catch a glimpse of blue up above; imagine some mindless, soulless grey-colored architecture strewn about in a maze-like pattern; to this scene add several thousand shellsuit-clad zombies with football scarves draped around their necks and you will have a pretty good portrait of where I live. I ask myself daily "How did I get here?". I'm still looking for the exit sign...

True-color image of my town, over the road and behind some trees (no zombies on show):

3. What do you do for a living? Student or work for the big man?

The Big Man takes a piece of my soul each day.

4. What's the meaning behind your nickname?

I just like the sound of it; I've no idea what it means (I think it's a Polish surname).

6. What did you do this past weekend?

I do shiftwork, so Weekends have no meaning to me really. I was at work the last one.

7. What size of shoes do you wear?

Size 9 or 10 (UK) - I honestly right now can't remember.
Why do you ask? I always get suspicious of women who ask a guy his shoe size... it's not true what they say about that.

8. Tell us about your current living arrangements. (Who you live with, in a house/apartment, etc)

Me, other half, two cats, one bamboo plant, lots of spiders and assorted microorganisms share a house.

9. Finish this sentence "My life's motto is..."

Not to have a motto. Oh, wait - that is a motto. Damn.

10. Tell us something about your self that we might find surprising.

I can read and write in Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphs - not very well though, but I'm learning (ever so slowly). It's probably the hardest thing I've ever tried to learn. It starts of easy, then rapidly turns into a brain-twisitng nightmare when you have to deal with the grammar side of things.

11. What are you listening to right now

Literally: A noisy cpu fan. The sound of dishes being washed in the kitchen (escaped it again!). girlfriend moaning about doing the dishes.
Not so literally: I was listening to the Wedding Present this morning ... a memory lane type morning.
Even less literally: Boards of Canada, Autechre, lots of weird electronica from the Baltic regions, local bands etc.

12. What kind of car do you drive? (post a photo!)

Me no drive - I have a cheuffeur. Must learn one day though. Been saying that for years...

13. What was your favorite toy growing up?

Stones. I loved stones. Really loved stones. Threw them into ponds at makeshift ships and various non-living targets. Stones and glass bottles. Stones and rivers.
Stones and bridges. Stones and puddles. I was an expert stone-thrower - if I could get paid for throwing rocks into smooth-as-glass lake I would be quite happy.

This dude has totally lost touch with the origins of his sport:

14. Pet peeves. We all have them. Give us your top 5.

(i) people
(ii) groups of people
(iii) people that force their beliefs upon others
(iv) lack of imagination
(v) zombies

15. Going on vacation this summer? If yes, tell us about it.

Sadly, no. But I will daydream one or two.

16,17,18

Not really. I guess I'm too boring.

19. What are you most afraid of?

I'm not really keen on the idea of coppin' my whack. No escape from that I guess...

20. Are you an introvert or extrovert?

An innie.

21. Least favorite subject in school?

English. I really, really, really hated that. With a passion.

22. What are some of your hobbies?

Learning. Learning. Learning.

23. Do you speak more than one language?

Ashamed to say I can't speak any foreign tongues. I can, and frequently do, speak in fluent Double-Dutch.

24. Do you make a big deal on your bday? (big celebration?)

No. I would angry at anyone who attempted to make a big deal of it. I sometimes forget what age I am and have to work it out sometimes - that's what happens if you truly make no big deal over it. Several times I have thought I was older than I actually was (my mental arithmetic let me down).

25. Do you have any pets?

Yes. Two moggies - bro and sis.

Image

26. Tell us about the last thing you were thinking about.

Erm...

27. What do you do to stay in shape? Or do you do anything at all? LOL

I was thinking about going for a walk.

28. What's the next thing in your life you're looking forward to? (A forthcoming concert, bday, trip, etc)

Escape from Zombieville! Only thing is, it's a fantasy, There is no escape.

29. What's your favorite song(s)?

xyz (Peel Session version) by Boards of Canada, Garbagemx36 by Autechre

30. What other sites do you frequent besides ozzu.com?

sokker, hattrick, dugout-online, gene expression, evolgen, deep sea news, PLOS Biology, centauri dreams, cosmic variance, c86, real climate, sutemos, jamendo,
a good poop, news@nature, europe lightning, Nimravid's weblog

31. Why are you not answering your GTKY questions?

I was trying hard to dodge it, hoping it would slither of the page quickly before anyone noticed.

32. What do you do to make yourself feel better after a really lousy day?

Music, read, web, daydream.

33. What's your favourite weather?

Intense thunderstorms. But as is typical of my luck, we don't get many good 'uns round these parts. Still, better than none I suppose.
I'd love to visit Darwin in the wet season:

Image

34. Do you think all of existence is explicable by science?

In theory, yes. In practice, probably not. If I guess your wider point, then yes. I don't feel the need to resort to the divine/supernatural to explain anything.

35. Is Elvis still alive?

He's a living myth.

36. What's your favourite conspiracy theory?

I don't buy 'em, but a fave one would be the Apollo Moon landings.

37. If you were offered a career as an actor, a pilot or a surgeon, which one would you choose?

Pilot. Pilot of my own starship.

38. What's the best thing about your life right now?

I'm still alive. Long may it continue...

39. Are you still around on Ozzu?

Always.

40. Why do you dislike "zombieville"?

It's grey, grey, grey and has no soul. It's one of them creepy mining village-come-towns with a mining industry long gone. It's full of neds and numpties. It's got one main street with about 6 pubs and a dozen fast-food places: "Ozzy's Kebabs" and "Aldo's Greasy Fish Suppers" type places. There's also a butchers, bakers, bank, post office and an under-stocked local store crowded with octogenarians with blue-rinsed hair... you can probably imagine it. Surrounding the main street are the nighmare designs of some demented architect who drank too much mushroom tea back in the hippie days. The town also lies near some wannabe Metropolis that sucks the life and business out of the surrounding area for miles.

41. Does Zombiville have a land mass of 30,414 sq mi?

If it did, it would be one of the largest towns on the planet! Your half right though - it is located within the borders of that country.

42. Where would you escape to?

Hmmm... tough question. Perhaps Sutherland or the Inner Hebrides. If money was no object then I'd maybe by an island somewhere.

43. Does your job have anything to do with website development?

Nope. About the closest I get to that at work is sneaking on the internet when the bosses are away/asleep.

44. Did you see the original question before i edited and changed it?

I'm getting a headache trying to understand this one. I'll hazard a guess and say what the good man from del Monte said.

45. Favorite colour?

Grey. A special grey though. Kinda charcoaly-ish or something. Contradiction city.

46. Cellular provider (if any)?

Vodafone - I wouldn't recommend them.

47. Favorite Browser?

I've been a long-term IE user for years and years. Recently I've been using Opera quite a bit. After 9.5 came out I've been using Opera exclusively (except to login to my gmail account - Opera won't play ball with this at all for some wacky reason). It might be fair to say that I have now switched browsers. I've never really gotten to grips with the FireFox thing - all that XUL and extension stuff makes it a bit of a beast on resources. When I need to make use of the wondeful web developer toolbar extension then I will fire up FF.

48. Does it make it easier when I already include bold tags?

It does indeed. I did have to number your questions though...

49. Red or Blue?

Red wouldn't go down too well in a field of bulls, so I'd pick blue. Then again, sometimes bad things come out of the blue.
