I think I can find it
I just think it's sad that people seem to think that you cannot be a genius unless you are world famous for changing the way we live and think.. Some of the smartest people in the world are not known as a genius.. Sad..

Yeah heart -- don't give in to impatience.. It's a great concept and better than any other "game" we have going at the general board at the moment. Just because it's hard to associate a picture with a name doesn't make it any less enjoyable. I know I have seen that man. It'll probably come to me in a few days when I'm half awake/ half asleep.

Yeah, I know.. I will keep it up until someone answers.. I know there is someone who knows.. Just seems like all those fiction books are paying off..
Also, ATNO.. If anyone knew this it would probably be you.. You might of read his book or know of him and his book.. *wink wink*.. That's not a big hint but just from what I know about you.. I think you would be the one to figure it out..

Me neither. I spent a good 45 mins. He looks like a cross between George Wendt and Dave Thomas though...

I've been searching a bit myself. The sad part is I probably have his book sitting in my attic in a box somewhere and am too lazy to go look for it. I'm still stewing on it. I know if I don't get it first I'm going to be ticked at myself.
If Heart hadn't given the clues that he had I was just going to say Kenneth Blanchard as my first guess because I didn't know the age of the photo in the avatar and there is a striking resemblence give or take 20 or 25 years, but his profile doesn't match the clues.

I already know that's wrong because I feel that avatar photo is somewhat current. and the clues don't match up -- but it is a close resemblance -- particularly the smile.

It's Tom Hopkins. I had to take off the glasses and put on contacts, but that is almost a dead ringer:

I even searched Guinness Book.

I did as well. I looked through everything to do with an author. No sign of him. I'm Googling for self-improvement authors, etc. and haven't seen him yet. It's a long hard road, but I will come out victorious!
