Are you talking about the new TLD's that will be able to be purchased? Those are going to cost a pretty penny; you won't see just anybody buying them.

not sure what your point is :?:

My point is that mcdonalds.co.uk is just as worthless as mcdonalds.mydomain.com

The only one that has value is mcdonalds.com

Sounds something possible, but lets focus on the present.. it matters the most at this point..

i was offered $3500 for angrybirdswalkthrough.com from another developer and after the time and effort was calculated it was better to keep it but i will agree that it is only worth what you can negotiate for it. If you got 100k read visits a day then you got some room to move but if your selling a domain with no site and no traffic it is worth nothing.

A good example is facebook which is worth millions for the reasons that people are on it 24 hours a day and live on that site and it has gain popularity in the millions of accounts. Mark could sell it for a easy 100 million and more i would say. but they are dealing with big numbers and have their own data centers.

put it up on a auction site or put some advertising up on the site or even a selling portal and take a leap of faith.
