Hi all,
I am using Internet Explorer and as to open a new link a window is opened. Is there any other web browser available which allows opening multiple sites? I think Mozilla is the one but other than Mozilla is there any browser available? Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I think most up to date versions of any browser do it.

Opera is another you should check out for tabbing. They also have a "quick dial" page too so when you open a new tab it has a screenshot of a website you've added and you just click on that to go to the site. It's really good.

Do you press the "control" (ctrl) button when clicking links? If the browser has tabbing on it then by pressing the control button every clicked link should open in a new tab. Some links open in tabs anyway, however some don't. As for why this happens? i haven't got a clue.

Internet Explorer version 7 has tabbed browsing. You can download it from this website if you don't have it.

Personally I would use FireFox 3 or Opera instead of IE.

Yahoo Toolbar actually does have a feature that lets you use tabs with IE6: see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/toolba ... ar-58.html

It's remarkable how fast Firefox has picked up, even against the monster a.k.a. Internet Explorer. Only sometime back, Firefox accounted for less than 20% of the browser market and now its above 40% - statistics at http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

I really like Firefox but find that recently it's been a bit more buggy and less reliable. I'm still using Firefox mostly although i've also been using Opera when FF starts to tick me off.

Hopefully things can sort of get back to how they used to be with FF.

Only thing in FF3 that bugs me is the "web developer" add-on ... it's a bit buggy ... when I edit the CSS all the images disappear ... further than that I have no problems with it ...

I've found that most additions/improvements to Firefox 3 are most welcome:

1. You can "undo" close tab (Ctrl+Shift+T) - this I found when I accidentally pressed Shift while opening a new tab

2. FF3 saves zoom settings for individual websites - this is really helpful when you regularly visit a site and find its font size too small

3. A long-awaited feature: built-in resume capability for downloads

And lots of other things that don't come to me at the moment, but very useful in everyday browsing...

Hi,
What is the problem in using Mozilla? It is the best browser. I also use Mozilla and recommend you the same. As you have said it allows opening multiple tabs in same window. Also you can install some add-ons which make browsing easy and safe. Like HHOT View, it is a browser add-on that lets you quickly view web content without clicking or leaving your current page. It allows quick, safe and click less browsing. You can download this free tool from here.

Hope this will help you out.

Well, I think Mozilla is good from the browsing point of view in same window.

I wish I could figure out a way to take a screenshot of Operas context (right-click) menu on gnome. :scratchhead:

Opera has options when right-clicking links to
  • Open
  • Open in new background tab
  • Open in new background window

I don't know what I'd do without the background tab option.

IE 7 has this feature. And now most recent browser versions have this functionality.
