Hello fellow webmasters.

I'm seeking you out because my status as a "webmaster" is under threat as Yahoo/Geocities have just disabled and shut down my website.

So I'll explain the problem in the forum on web hosting and see if any of you can suggest a host.

I'm new here - obviously; found the site while looking for solutions to my Windows XP problems.

I'm an automotive designer / illustrator / program manager and ex-screen printer. I've been doing corp intranet web design for a while, did my nephew's band's site (now they're redesigning themselves http://www.onetoomanymusic.com - the following was my version http://personal.cmich.edu/~compt1ga/one ... onetoomany ) and now I have a real paying freelance job I'm working on.

My hope is to build up enough talent and knowledge to quit working for "the man" and strike-out on my own.

I use MM Dreamweaver, and Fireworks. I need to inplement CCS and would really like to learn Flash. All I know I've learned so far was on my own and from books and tutorials. I've also done some perl/cgi stuff but nothing too fancy.

I'm over 40, married w/an 18 yr old daughter. I have way too many interests and currently keep busy with motorcycling, golf, hiking, bonsia, astonomy (built my own 8' f6 scope - used a bowling ball for part of the mount) home repair and improvement...

I hope that at some point I will be more of a "giver" than a "taker" from here, but I suspect that day will be a way off.

I look fwd to getting to know you and hope to learn a lot.
