My name is Christopher - 37 - originally from South Africa but living in Malta at this time.

I am a budding web designer and still a beginner. The most current website I am working on is at http://www.icefire4u.com/tommi.htm

The main reason why I joined up is because I was looking for help on executing a basic feedback/contact form and what I discovered is that I cant do that just by HTML and that I have to create a CGI file in PERL.

This is all new to me and I am finding it hard to understand what elements and information to put where.... lol that's where I am now....I hope someone can help this "blonde" Beginner -

Well...I'm still very new to all of this compared to most people I've met on the net. I'm an active member of two sites presently, my own and a security site, and I'm a member of Cnet and About.

Recently I've looked around for decent web forums to learn about promotion and coding issues..joined a few but haven't yet found any that really make the grade ( hopefully this will be the exception ).

Basically I'm here for the same reason everyone comes to a webmaster forum...to learn about how to improve, enhance, and promote your site/s.

My sites have only been in existence since the middle of Jan 2006 and the forum already boasts over 4800 posts which I think is pretty good if the other sites I'm comparing it to are any indication.

The site/s are community oriented...meaning they are not specific to any thing in particular. But rather are meant to reflect a normal community with many interests.

The forum is an exercise and attempt to create a member-controlled enviroment...which is a hard concept to grasp...essentially the members are supposed to run the forum, not the administrators...or at least that's the objective.

So...now you know who I am and why I'm here...I hope to be here a long time...and learn as much as I can.

I've stumbled across this website, as I'm addicted to my laptop! (only got it mid January after years of sitting up on my Desktop in the freezing loft conversion we have).

Only problem is, my two year old managed to lob his water at it the other day and has soaked it and made it very poorly - so I'm back in my freezing loft!

So I've stumbled across this site, in search of some help from some much more experienced 'puter peeps than myself.

Im currently in the US Navy, im working in korea as an information management officer, i do networking and upgrade laptops and crate/delete accounts, nothing special.

but ive been dabling in computer programing, i used to do C++ in high school and worked with a friend of mine here, he works for a gaming industry here in seoul, they do tons of programing and i was allowed to hang out there and even imput some code they gave me. so it was pretty cool

im Originaly from Puerto Rico, but, ive been a military brat my whole life, so ive travled the world.
