Doesn't look too useful to me..

Shut down windows, log off, turn off the monitor, I can do this already, heh.

Just looks like a glorified screensaver :)

If windows doesn't shut down, that usually means there's a problem with the OS (usually network drivers/connection related in my experience).

Just hold the power button on the case for 5 seconds and it'll turn off :)

ah Wizmo is much "healthyer" for your computer in these situations, rather than just holding the power button, or kicking your computer

and I would use a mac instead of PC, but I work on min wage so :P

Is it the PC you don't like or Windows? Just because it's a PC doesn't mean it has to be ruled by the almighty Gates.

Install Linux on it. That's even cheaper than a Micro$oft OS license :)

Linux is far "healthier" for your PC then Windoze, and I have never had any need to force a shutdown this Linux since I've installed it.

Just because you've got it doesn't mean you have to use it :)

You probably didn't get it for free, just that its license cost was included in the total purchase price of the computer :)

no, there was the cost of my computer, then when all the transfer of cards I wanted to keep and stuff was done the guy looked at the recipt with a confused look on his face and said "hmm, we forgot to charge you for windose, oh well to late now" 100 bucks that didn;t come out of my pocket
Mind you I would still be using my old computer if I knew that motherboards had a limit on how much ram they can handel :S

After almost 15 years working as a systems administrator and technical consultant for hire, I have seen some hilarious moments. One of my favorite was an administrator that didn't know about soft-power switches (that you have to hold for 5 seconds to power down a system). This person was applying multiple patches to 50 laptops. The computers were patched by booting in DOS mode and running a patch utility. Since DOS has no shutdown command, she didn't know how to turn off the units (because the power switch appeared to be malfunctioning). Well, it took her several days to patch the laptops because she waited for the batteries to drain after each patch.

Yup, she didn't know how to remove the batteries either.
