Despite the fact that federal lawmakers are buckling down on internet pirates, Kazaa the leading peer to peer network is still going strong. At four o'clock today there were over 4 million users sharing 854 million files, aproximatly six thousand terrabytes of information. Needless to say these laws have a long way to go before any major impact is made.

I don't think half the people that are on the computers know about it....I think...If it weren't for this forum wouldn't have even known about this! I almost never watch tv, and when i do it's like something on tlc or travel channel lol. And i usually dont hear it at school or anywhere.

Well, they can't exactly advertise it, what with it being illegal and all. I'm sure that they've gotten more users since news channels have been broadcasting things like "The Next Napster?". They're actually helping Kazaa out.

I would have to agree that news channels are helping out kazaa. It's more like advertising for them rather than scaring people.

It's just not a good idea to keep pirating things. Best to go ahead and start paying per doenload. We'll all be doing it soon enough anyway.
