a little bit of England . .

Hi,

My name is Steve, I'm 42 and I abide in North East England. To quote Ricky Gervais - that's the country that used to run the world before you guys. I got interested in computing almost by accident as my main course in life had been in manufacturing. In those days computing seemed to be run by a secret society of geeks who preferred to keep their computing secrets to themselves. That all changed with Mr Gates and now just about everybody has a PC from young kids to silver surfers. I give Mr Gates a lot of credit for that and often think he doesn't get enough recognition for the revolution that he started. At least we Brits have recognised his contribution - did you know he'd been knighted and is known as 'Sir Bill ' over here? I run a small computing company now and a web site that tries to assist those new to computing to take their interest further.

This site, at first glance, looks really useful and I hope to learn quite a bit from other users.
