why did the world have to see? Most palces require you to submit private information to which is used to verify cc's etc.

If you register through Godaddy, I know you can pay an additional 10 bucks a year to make all that information private so that people cannot look up who owns the domain in the whois.

ya im registered with go daddy, and they require that u give your info then it is published in the whois. I didnt want to pay extra to keep it private. Although they do allow u to give seperate info for billing. So im sure not many people give real info. So if u pay to keep it private does it just did give the domain host info?

a domain is a public record. and so is the whois database. what did you
expect when giving a CC for verification and payment? seems like an
empty complaint to me.

You can still make it private so only the company you purchased your domain from knows the real information, instead of anybody who looks it up on the whois, as I have already previously explained.

i wasn't commenting on your post, i was re-itterating the background
and nature of a domain, and why it requires a your info to obtain it.

I know you can make it private. I have tons of domains, as you know.
