Making money online a dream?

I have been trying to make money online for years since 1997. So far in my journey i have seemed to srounge up 350 dollars in profits. Someone told me the only way to make money online is from porn. I started to dable in the webhosting world but quickly found out its over saturated. I was thinking about making a local personals website is that profitable unlike anything else online?

If you have made any money online please tell your story i would like to here them.

judging by the amount of businesses still around on the net - there is money to be made - but noone wants to give their credit card details out to a site which has no history... well most people anyway - there are always suckers out there...

Making money online is possible, but the problem you're probably facing is that you are competing against many other websites and the internet is pretty unforgiving if you're not in, say, the top 50 websites of your category. The top 5 will rake in thousands, but down at no. 50 you might still be struggling. So its a little like an exponential effect where 90% of the money made is going to the top 5 websites, and 1% of the money made is distributed at those below position 50 or so...

The only way I see people making money from the net is if they have something new and different, trying something that has been done before is a waste of time. Like porn for example, people think they can make money from it, but the internet it littered with the stuff so its a waste of time, try something different and original is the way to go!

But serisouly, there is tons of money to be made on the net... Most ideas are already taken but if u come up with something new and usefull, who knows? You could make millions!

i have a new idea and will be posting it shortly once the site is completed. I will keep everyone posted if i make millions or not. Does anyone here have any online success stories?

I actually took part in making a few flash movies that became a big in in Japan I believe... I didn't get any money out of it but I hear the others who were in it for the cash made like 5 children's books and almost had a tv show over there, I wonder how they're doing now....

I was not making money until I start using ppc google adword.

1) Come up with an idea for a site that will cost you less to drive traffic to than you make from it.(It can be done without porn)

2) Work dedicated and hard.

3) Don't give up.

Not at all....... I just saw a buy-out of a website from my work that went in the *up-teen* millions (a website mind you)......... All you got to do is start the right thing .... Add some traffic.... wait a few years.... SELL,SELL,SELL.... It is there but you got to do it right... Marketing is the key.. You got to start something that alot of people are interested in. I have my idea in which i am going to lanuch by the end of the summer! I hope that i do it right and can get something from it!

If anybody is interested you can make money with this deal on getting 10GB Ipods for $50 and selling them for $300.

It takes a good 3-4 hours to get an ipod for $50 but its well worth it.
