I have an older SONY 19" and I really do love it, but the picture is fading
all the colors out. Not to mention I now see a set of lines running down
the picture, right where it's really annoying me.

*sigh* time to look for a new one I guess.

I had a beautiful 21’ monitor with wonderful colors showing through. Although I got it cheap at some computer show, and I knew it was a gamble. The reason it was so cheap was because it took a tad bit to warm up and it would look funky for a bit. But it looked great otherwise. Sadly a year and a half later the back melted out, and I’m back to a 19’. Ah well. But before it totally died, it also like lines running down, and it would sort of turn on and off really quick.

So if it's possible, get it check out, it might only get worse.

My monitor did that for awhile too. It got pretty bad at one point as lightning streaks start coming out of it and shooting all across the screen. That was a bit freaky so I got a new monitor and have been happy ever since. (I have a LCD monitor now).

I am looking at a 46" Gateway Plasma Display for ONLY $3,799.99...

Now, it is kinda sad when you spend more on your monitor than you do your computer.. Kinda one of thoughs things when your house catches fire you are like "F$#K the computer! Grab the monitor!!!"

Really for a 46" that is kinda cheap..

Gateway is well known for that Plasma screen, it's supposed to be one of the best out there. I just got a nice deal on my new monitor. 19" Viewsonic for only $155, it's refurbished, but hey, it still has the same warrenty and is from a licensed reseller. Check it out: http://www.target-sale.com/tusa/items/m ... 04004.html

You can always have some fun with it. Try using it as a stress reliever. Whenever ure mad, get a sledgehammer and crush it.

Hahaha speaking of stress reliever, my friend was pissed when i was at his house, so he shot off a fire extinguisher in his backyard then clamped the handle so it stays open and took a hammer to it. Then he threw it on the ground a couple of times, rolled it around, ya know, just beat the h$ll out of it. I also go to throw it a couple of times, it's fun.

Have any of you ever seen on of those homemade fresnel screen projector things in action, according to the website I saw (I forget the URL) you just stick a couple of cardboard boxes together, paint them black, fit the fresnel screen to to it and attatch it to your monitor/portable tv set then flip your monitor upside down and point at a white wall and Bobs your uncle you can project an image up to 100" in size. Thats the theory anyway.
