Anyone here taking part in the annual Movember?

For those of you unaware, Movember is an annual month long event where men around the world grow a moustache to help raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and depression.

There are alot of people talking about skin cancer and breast cancer yet not alot is said about some of the diseases and illnesses men can get that haven't been as heavily invested in. Movember is in my opinion a great way to have a bit of fun, for those clean shaven, and show that you support the idea behind the events. I've never really tried growing a beard before although i would like to, so for the first time ever for a whole month i will not shave my upper lip and if i can i will try and experiment with a few moustache designs.

Anyone else here interested in taking part this year? it's actually good as all you have to do is...well... quite literally nothing.

I think walking around with their colostomy bags hanging on their hip like a fanny pack is a better way to increase prostate cancer awareness. Sooner or later people will be throwing money at anything and everything so they don't have to look at them anymore.

There's already a cure for depression in men, it's called not masturbating so often.

I hate having a mustache, it pokes the corners of my mouth and irritates the hell out of me. It's also a place for funk to grow.

My facial hair never grows in evenly, so any time I go longer than a few days without shaving I just end up looking like a dirty ol' software develo.... nevermind.

Somehow I did not get the genetic benefits from my Irish-German-Hungarian heritage, except for perhaps a high liquor tolerance, haha.

Add that to the fact that I met a few very attractive women in D.C. this weekend while clean-shaven ;)

I've had a moustache since college (roughly 30 years ago). So I guess by default I'm supportive?

The whole point of raising awareness is getting people to do something they don't normally do.

I already have a full beard and I can't even so much as trim it or cut my hair without hearing stupid comments from students at the school I work in, so I'm staying just as I am.

I am very grouchy today.

I don't ever have any facial hair ... I saw this a few weeks ago and I am doing it ... First time I'm ever doing anything like this ... I'm gonna look like a total idiot with a moustache but I have to do it once, and there's no better time than now.

Does a goatee count? A mustache looks horrible on me.

I think that's what i am going to do. A guy i used to work with last November played about with a few ideas over the month, he had handle-bars at one point which merged into a beard...so i don't suppose it really matters.

As i have not done anything ever i think having some sort of facial hair might be better than having none. My facial hair doesn't grow thick and fast though, so i'm probably gonna end up looking stupid by the end of the month

My facial hair grows fast and thick :D Kind of a curse really (If I'm not trying to sport any facial hair).

So it's the 9th; I haven't shaved since the 1st. I kinda look like crap.

I don't think I'll make it to the end of the month :/

Yeah, i am thinking the same. I will do it though, however i fully expect someone to come up to me at work and ask me to shave soon. Nobody really knows i am doing it for Movember.
