Help. After surfing in lets say, facebook, i log out and close IE. However, when I on IE again and start typing the facebook url, the sites i have visited appears in a drop down menu. Ive tried clicking the delete button on the drop down url , cleared my browsing history and edited my registry but this problem still persists. Help please. Im sharing this com with my mates and i dont want them to know everything i do online. :(

Clearing history works in IE7 but if it's not in IE8, a work-around is to create different password protected profiles. That way they won't know what you do & you won't know what they do.

Other than that, the best way is to buy your own laptop.

Can you read? I gave you a work-around. Create password protected profiles.

Clearing browsing history and disabling auto-complete works for me in IE8.

//btw: there's also "InPrivate" mode. (a.k.a., porn mode.)

 That's certainly one way to put it... are you not allowed to download Firefox on that computer? Do you have to use IE8?

Just saying... maybe download Firefox and that could fix some of your problems with IE8 :)

Sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that you had. The moniker is commonly used to describe private browsing. I thought, in your case, it would set a clear expectation of privacy.

Apologies. No offense intended.
