For anyone that's interested. Netscape is officially dead.

I don't use Netscape myself, but thought i'd tell you lot anyway.
I use IE6 and sometimes Opera.

I really do not care for Netscape either. If I recall, Microsoft isn't doing anything with Internet Explorer browser either anymore.

Is the Mozilla project still going to continue though? That is what netscape was based off of I think.

Netscape 6 is what was based off Mozilla, but maybe some of the people working on Mozilla will feel inclined to keep it going.

They've launched a new non-profit Mozilla foundation with AOL donating $2 million and some resources to get it started. I don't know how far that will go though.

I kind of like mozilla because you can use tabs like in opera to open multiple pages in the same browser instance, but I still use IE mostly. I don't think there's a Google toolbar for Mozilla :(

Older article re: NS 6

http://wp.netscape.com/browsers/future/standards.html

Thought it was interesting reading when thinking about the current state of things.

More in line with the topic, I use IE 6 because it displays everything the way I intend it. Nothing else does, and in spite of the fact that I like Opera, it's still hard to code for.

This thread is a bunch of lies...
Netscape is alive and well and plotting
its next attack on IE.

Netscape is really really evil when your trying to make a website for someone to be able to preview in all browsers.

I hear people on AOL in america cant see most javascripts, don't know if its true or not.

meh, serves them right for being with AOL, they suck anyways and they are too expensive.
