I think there are lots of crazy deals when you hit it right. In the last month, I have replaced all my furniture from craigslist. Sold all my old stuff, and bought all new stuff.

The highlights are:

New dresser and nightstand $80. Worth $800 when new

Air Hockey table, $85. New $2000 (google rhino air hockey table)

TV Stand, new one was $70. Was worth $400 new. (sold old one $65)

4 bar stools, $15. FOR ALL 4!!

Coffee table, $125, new 175

Matching End Tables $5 each. $10 for two perfect matching end tables!!

2 Lamps. Free with coffee table. $0 ??

Two new couches. $265, new $1400. (sold old ugly ones for $400) I got PAID to upgrade my couches.

And then the LCD TV. Sold 10 year old one for $150, bought new one for $274

The trick with Craigslist is patience. There are people out there that buy stuff, then have to move, or decide they dont like it, and these people have more money than brains - wait for them and scoop up the deals.

Speaking of saving money, buying stuff in bulk kicks ass 100 times over. I decided to learn how to make chicken noodle soup, and in my internet recipe I found it called for a spice called marjoram. At lame-o wal mart they wanted $4.12 for a half a freaking ounce, and my mom told me to go to the health food store and get the same amount for a boat load cheaper. They only had a 2 ounce baggie, but it was still only $1.69. Four times more marjoram for less than half the price, 'tis time to turn hippie and start shopping at the health food store I think!
Like Mr Spork, I also write about my interest in alcoholic beverages.

ooh I love health food stores :D not just because of the deals - they tend to have weird stuff I've never tried before, and that's always fun.

craigslist sounds fun too - too bad I can't play all the way here from serbia..........
