With all the blog posts and tweets we've been seeing roll in from Google employees who are dogfooding the new (until now unnamed) phone device, I've been waiting on someone to officially term the project. Today, I found the name. The Android-based phone that employees have been testing for the company will be officially knows as "Nexus One", and it is said that it will be available direct to consumers early this year - unlocked - ready to be placed on a compatible carrier.

I don't know whether I like this trend where Google makes its' way into consumer electronics or not.

At first glance it seems kinda cool, especially considering some of the things I've read about Googles' super efficient server setups and how efficiency is really important with mobile devices like the smartphones and netbooks Google is getting into.

I can't seem to kick this ominous feeling I have about it though. :scratchhead:
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

Can it? Sure - it already is on some level. If you mean take majority market share, only time will tell. Not sure what type of specificity you're looking for there.
