Noob question about PHPBB3

ok giving up will not get me anywhere here is a screen shot of what i see.

I would just delete the phpbb3 folder and upload everything again (thats in the phpbb3 folder, not the folder it self) to the view you have in that picture.

Penguin, I might make things easier for you if you use an FTP client rather than a web-based file manager.

But then I would end up with the same result?

right now when your uploading the phpbb3 forum your probably selecting an extract folder on your computer named phpbb3, you need to select the content inside of it and not the folder it self. Using a ftp client would probably make your life a lot easier and Spork pointed out.

You can also just use windows explorer by entering the following into your address bar (not internet explorer)

ftp://loginname:yourpassword@nameofserver.com

penguin, it will be worth your time to get used to using an FTP application before trying to go much further or you're going to find people laughing at you no matter where you go.
It's going to take a month of Sundays to move a phpBB3 sized package worth of files with C-Panels file manager.

Start with something like Filezilla. Once you get use to using an FTP application you will be surprized how much easier some of this stuff is. You might even look back and laugh yourself, I know I did when I figured it out years ago.

If you're not sure how to get started with with FTP after having a client, you'll want to look around and experiment with the "FTP Manager" section of your C-Panel.

Don't worry penguin, just because people laugh doesn't mean nobody is laughing at something they've done somewhere else. They're not laughing at you, they're laughing with you, you just haven't joined in yet.

There's also an FTP add-on extension for Firefox called FireFTP which is pretty decent as far as basic usage goes.
