The last time I installed PHPBB3 it was using fantistico. So anyway I did it manually this time. It has installed correctly but my board says.

Please delete, move or rename the install directory before you use your board. If this directory is still present, only the Administration Control Panel (ACP) will be accessible.

It may be easy for many people. But What am I supposed to delete? I want phpbb3 on the main directory its on. http://www.wicked-web.info/phpBB3/ at the moment

this is http://www.wicked-web.info

Could someone please help.

Thanks

upload your files to the root of the domain, aka on step below the phpbb3 folder is now, the error your getting is because you need to delete the installation folder. For your current set up it will be under phpbb3/installation or install

phpBB3/install/

Delete the entire install directory, including the folder.

upload the phpbb3 files into the main directory, and not the phpbb3 folder it self, just the contents of it.

Using an FTP program or the file manager in your cPanel, navigate to the public_html/www directory (or whatever else your root directory may be called), then navigate to the phpBB3 directory. Click the "install" directory then delete it.

First, make sure no important files will be overwritten in the destination.

Second, use the ACP to change the script path.
General Tab -> Server Settings item on the right -> Script Path
It should be "/phpBB3" when you find it, change it to "/".

Third, move the files.

You should be good to go after that.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.

I changed that /phpbb3 like you said joebert. And I deleted the install file.

So how do I move PHPBB3 to the the main index so it goes to http://www.wicked-web.info

do i have to manually move all files? Damm I wish I could just stick to fantistico.

Upload all the files of PHPBB3 into your public_html folder (aka everything inside of phpbb3). I don't really know what else to tell you.

Don't click the folder icon beside phpBB3 - instead, click the words "phpBB3". In the control pane, choose "move", and then click on "public_html".
