Hey guys! I need your help. I and a few friends found this website:

http://www.stumbledupon.com/index.htm

We have clicked on the icon in the upper right corner and it takes us to a new page and a riddle. It seems we need to line up the tumblers correctly somehow (presumably by changing the computer clock). But we don't understand the javascript code fully.

I'm hoping some new fresh eyes might help us out.

I don't even understand how to change the tumblers. When I click on them it just highlights the numbers in the web page, they don't seem to be click-able.

You have to reset your PC clock. But we just don't know what to set it to. Did you happen to look at the javascript code yet?

JAVASCRIPT Code: [ Select ]
<!--<p>when the shifting sands align the tumbler = dd:mm:yy = hh:mm:ss</p>-->

Yeah, but we still don't know how that applies. We're stumped there.

Here's the thread where we're discussing it.

That way you guys maybe can see something we're not.

Well I got the tumbler to stop. Basically the saying:

Quote:
and when the shifting sands, in part, align the tumblers then start

Means in my mind, make it so that all of the tumblers say the same value, and then start something but I don't know what. I decided to go for:

111111

As you said it goes by your current clock settings, however, it is converted into UTC time. So for me since I am currently -7 UTC (PDT time) I had to take that into account. So if you set it to -7 UTC (or PDT time) and set your date to:

Monday, October 31, 2011

and time to:

6:40:00 PM.

Then once the clock changes to 6:41:11 you will see they will all align to 111111 and then stop moving. However, for me nothing happens still besides the tumblers stopping. Theoretically the same would happen for 222222, 333333, 444444, etc.

I did not see anything about a message or anything though once all the tumblers stopped, maybe I was supposed to do something else after? I was hoping to "seek the message" ;)

I actually looked into the JS and found a function that checks the alignment. So I bypassed the check it did with Operas user.js

Code: [ Select ]
opera.defineMagicFunction('IsTumblersAligned',
    function ()
    {
        return true;
    }
);
  1. opera.defineMagicFunction('IsTumblersAligned',
  2.     function ()
  3.     {
  4.         return true;
  5.     }
  6. );

Tumblers stop, but nothing else happens. It looks like you're supposed to get the following message

Quote:
Right time, wrong place. Half marks... try harder, solve the anagram, and get that A...

Which is where my video post came from. I didn't get it when I bypassed the check function though.
