CNET Article

So in the past Sun bought MySQL, and now Oracle is buying Sun. The article doesn't say anything about MySQL going the way of the dodo, it almost makes it sound like Oracle is proud to control MySQL. I'm not sure what to think of a database software giant buying out an open source database, hopefully they won't muck anything up too bad.

You may remember this being discussed before here.

So they actually got to go through with it eh? I remember hearing about, I think, Monty Widenius crying foul about the deal.

I still think this was a long time scheme for Oracle to get ahold of MySQL, knowing Monty and company would never have wanted to sell out to Oracle. I just haven't figured out how Google fits into all of this yet.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.
