edited by ATNO -- screen shot was a dead link so I nixed it. You can replace it later if it works.

Edited again -- maybe I nixed it too soon. I see your sig's a dead stick now too (again)...maybe you need to talk to UNFLUX or Bigweb about a new hosting service? *wink

This was briefly discussed here:
http://www.ozzu.com/announcements-rules/ozzu-being-upgraded-probably-tonight-dec-2003-t19823-15.html

Bigwebmaster is just one tricky guy! (The forum is still all PHP -- Bigweb just put a "cloaking device" on it! *lol)

Actually, I'll leave it. You took some time to do the screen shot and upload it and all, and it would probably be good for folks to see that there are ways to improve search engine results beyond the basic ones.

and besides, it's a very valid question anyway. I'm surprised
no others have posted about it actually.

Why would you want to cloack .php to .html anyway?

You would mask the address for search engines. As for using a .html extension on those fake URLs... why not? :)

Some of the url's are really loooong, to shorten them it just takes a few steps.

On my website you can reach a forum-topic like this:

http://www.luchtzak.be/modules.php?name ... 6547#26547

but also like this:

http://www.luchtzak.be/postp26547.html#26547

Thanks to some .htaccess modrewrites and some header.php fine-tuning ;-)

greetz,

Bart
