I like this quote:

"Before people make their deal with the devil, they should be careful to make sure that, in fact, they won't get sued by anybody for what they did,"

*Giggles* Who would be so silly as to go for this? Never admit you’re guilty, that’s the first thing most lawyers tell you. They could catch you standing over the body with a bloody knife and the victims heart still beating in your hand, and most lawyers will tell you to not to admit your guilt until you’ve sat down with them and talked.

And good old User Friendly, keeping us amuses day after day.

makes no sense, if you look at the main headline on msn.com right now -

Hundreds of music swappers sued - Record industry follows up on threat
of wider legal action

here's the article....

I see it as a two pronged approach, sue the crap out of anyone you can find, and then give an amnesty period to save public face. Of course very few will go for the amnesty, but that doesn't matter. All they wanted was to show that they wern't completly ruthless, it's all for PR's sake.

i think the whole thing is stupid since people will just find a new way to
share. what's next, taking down IRC? please...i swear these companies
spend more time worrying about others than putting out better products.

The music industry is total crap right now as it is, this is just helps prove
that. money-hungry and totally self-obsorbed.

Believe me, I am a musician, and I understand their points 100%. But
record companies aren't really losing that much money from file sharing.
THey make their money off of touring and merchadise. Record sales is a
flopping business for the past 10 yrs.
