GM wants nissan and renault to buy 20% stake in it. I say bad move. GM is a dying dinassaur, let it face death alone. GM cars are pieces of junk. junk quality and junk service at gm dealerships. GM is reaping what it sowed. Thoughtless cars and vehicles that cannot compete but are a liability to the buyers. buyer beware. GM cars are junk cars, that is why GM cannot make it on its own. it makes junk hance it is looking for a saviour. NISSAN, if you are reading this, please dont merge with GM. I love nissan and infiniti cars and trucks, excellent quality, but general motors spurns out crap in the name of cars and the service at the dealerships is nothing but profound headache. i will never buy a general motors car or truck.

WOW Strong words

I find that funny, over here in Australia, GM is called Holden, and they just brought out Daewoo, now if GM was going that badly, why would they do that.. Might I also add , that Holden is a branch company of GM, American owners. GM also have many other "branch" companies, like Chevy for one.

Over here, we have a little thing, where you are either a Holden (GM) or Ford lover, its like a national competition to see who loves what, and you get given a hard time by the majority if you like the one the majority don't (As in a groups of friends) and I am by no means a GM lover, I hate them lol.. I ama Ford person through and through. But I would hardly say they are junk.

As for Nissan, Nissan is owned by renault, and the reason for that is Nissan were about to go broke, until Renault brought them.

I dought very much that renault would be able to afford the GM trademark. The only reason GM wants to do this, is because Nissan are japanese made cars, and as they did with Daewoo over here, they want to make Nissans and put a GM badge on them..

GM will never die, and if they do, I will admit I was wrong :)

GM IS JUNK, PURE ANS SIMPLE. they have lost the number one spot top toyota. as for FORD(Found On the Road Dead), they have no prayer. they *peach* up land rover, volvo and mazda. now those cars have poor quality thanks to meddling by ford. right now if you want a real car, buy toyota, bmw, honda, nissan, mercedes, or anything else other than ford or gm. if you do that, you will go to heaven when you die.

I've heard some whoppers, but that's a doozy, or doozer for you fraggles.

BMW makes great cars, all it takes is driving one to know that. (Bavarian Creme people !)

I've heard Mercs are good cars, but I've wanted to slap everyone I've known that drives one.

Honda, sell it before the hoses are scheduled to get changed...

Toyota, well, they seem to last, but not as long as the red tape on the brake lights does.

Well they might be junk there, but they aren't here!

I drive a toyota, and I hate it, its reliable yeah, but its ugly.. Over here MOST Fords and Holdens are preformance cars, if you saw, and drove these cars, you would think alot differently.. They are awesome, you can not beat the performance of these cars, in a stock standard vehicle. They are not junk.

I know heaps of people who drive GM's over.. I take them to be better then Holden.

Nissan aint nissan anymore, so no point bringing them up here. They are renault. And I used to drive a Nissan to and they ARE good cars.

GM arent going anywhere though.

By the way, the reason GM's sales aren'y going well at the moment, is because of the sky rocketing fuel prices. They sell alot of big cars, they cost alot to run, toyota doesnt, they sell little rice rockets, that cost nothing to run.. Toyota only make a few larger cars, and 4 Wheeled drives.

Its got nothing to do with them being crap...

Its all about the fuel..

Trust me, I know.. I have a 4 cylinder toyota camry, and it costs me $90 to fill it, imagine the equvilent in a ford or hold with a 6 cylinder or V6 engine, and double that price to run it..

I rest my case lol

Most companies are trying to cut the cost down , which leads to bad Quality ... , which is a very bad idea ... Back @ home we got Z28 1999 Not bad .
Caprice 2001 > bad stuff going with this car
Lumina 2000 > we collect its parts after it passes the 140 km/h
Cavelier 2000> cheap xternal body , cheap Interior ...
Dad used to own a Caddy 98 ... bad brakes , bad A/C , known 2 every Fuel stations .

now the BMW 745 2005 is a peace of werk ..

Quality matters ..

I think I'll keep my "piece of crap" GM car. Thanks.
(Not actually a picture of mine, my 76 is being stripped and primered right now)

My GM truck is also doing just fine with 160,000 miles on the original engine and tranny.

Has nothing to do with who made it.
ANY vehicle will last if you take care of it.
Why yes, yes I am.

Exactly Joebert. I maintain my GM vehicles, they run great. Since they are still around and running fine, they must not be manufactured junk. The issue is people these days want disposable cars. They buy a new car, get tired of it in 5 years, trade it in, get something else. During those 5 years, they don't want to do anything to the car to maintain it. Little foreign cars are good for that. If you want a vehicle to keep, GM or Ford is the way to go. How many 20 year old GM and Ford cars/pickups do you see on the road? How many old Honda, Nissan, Mitushibi cars do you see?

you dont see many 'old' japanese and cars because they are a new phenomenon. My mazda protege, 1995 model, before FORD CAME AND MEDDLED MAZDA UP DID 250,000 MILES, NOT KILOMETERS BUT MILES, and was still running when i sold it. the stupid thung that GM and Ford did is to get away from their culture and history of manufacturing quality cars and trucks. they realized that if they made good quality vehicles that would last along time, they would not make any money, because people would be driving those cars for a long time, hence the crappy quality coming out of detroit. i mean look at cars like alero, grand am, buicks, saturn and a whole array of crap not worth mentioning here that are gas guzzling, break down every time, and just to change the spark plugs requires a degree in engineering. what king od nonesense is that?

Disposable cars ?
Hmmm.
Doesn't GMC have a fairly large finance unit ?
Wonder what would happen if GMAC started raking in lease leafs.
Why yes, yes I am.

You're probably extra bias because of all the people in Texas driving dulley F-350 turbo diesels with a 5th wheel in the bed that has absolutely no grease on it, so you know they have never used to to haul anything.
