This is a sad, but incredible story!

BUILDERS' GRIM FIND

A man's pyjama-clad skeleton has been found in an empty Tokyo flat - 20
years after his lonely death.

The skeleton was discovered still lying in bed when building workers
entered the derelict block to prepare it for demolition.

Reports in the local media said a newspaper dated February 20, 1984,
lay on the kitchen table.

Police believe the man, who worked for the firm that built the block,
moved in after the company managing the flats went bust.

The man, then 57 and divorced with children, suddenly stopped coming
in to work two decades ago, but none of his relatives ever asked police
to search for him.

"I had no idea the apartment even existed," a Tokyo daily quoted a 65-
year-old neighbour as saying.

"After I heard the news, I thought 'Oh, it's here.' It's as if time had
stopped in this one place."

You never know, this guy could have been some sort of abusive husband and father. It may have been a relief to them(his family) that he just dissapeared from their lives. Just a possiblity.

Thats an interesting point DM. I guess it is still asd that there was not a single person in the world who cared enough to notice that he disappeared.

In Japan it is quite honourable to take your own life.

Life insurance is still paid out, if you commit suicide.

So when your family is going down the gurgler, you end your own life so as to obtain a better lifestyle for the family you leave behind.

Personally, I don't subscribe to that point of view.
You want to help your family, you stick around.

But, I am not Japanese and not raised with their ideals and society.
