Out of curiousity, when you ran SpyBot, did you run the Immunize funciton? I notice a number of people don't do this. Not that this will solve your other problems...

I'll attach a screenprint image of my startup. You can see the items I've got marked to come on, on startup. Basically it's only my Norton antivirus software, and live-update stuff.

One item that I HAVE unchecked and it 'turns itself of' is the synchronization manager ? ? what the hell is THAT ?! I found it living in my WINNT/system32 directory  I uncheck it from startup, and when I reboot, it comes back.

I hope this image comes through with my post... I'll give it a try.

BTW... like I mentioned, I use Norton antivirus, with the live update.

Hi DM,

No, I did not run immunize after I ran Spybot.

Hmmmm... sounds like maybe I should, eh?

Can someone tell me how to attach a file to my post, so I can show you what's in my startup ?

Jeannepo - Before you run those adware removal programs make sure you goto the area on that adware removal program that gets all the lastest updates. I had a similiar problem awhile back on a someone's computer I was trying to fix and the spyware program would remove numerous things, however, the problem wouldn't go away. Finally I decided to make sure the program was up to date (I assumed it already was since I just downloaded it from their website). After checking it was not up to date and it downloaded numerous engine updates that it uses to match these spyware programs. I then re-ran the program once it was totally up to date and it fixed all my problems and successfully removed all of the programs causing the pain. Make sure you try this, it may help.
