'Price Is Right' Announcer Dies
Oct 28, 10:56 AM EST

Associated Press

The phrase he shouted out on TV for 17 years — "Come on
Down!" — became household words around the country, even if
Rod Roddy's name did not.

The veteran television announcer died Monday at Century City
Hospital of colon and breast cancer at age 66.

That's ashame.

I noticed about 2 month sago they had a new announcer on for about a a week and then I swear Rod came back. Perhaps they had the new announcer, and then the last recorded ones of Rod were aired????

That show won't be the same without him :(

I have watched that show numerous times as well, that is sad, but everybody's time comes one day. I can't believe he was only 66 though.

I'm gonna seriously Miss that guy, I really loved his charisma and energy. I heard some of the girls who worked on his show said he had a problem with keeping his hands to himself, but hey what can you do he is a man full of spunk, energy and life surrounded by a bunch of cute ditzy blondes.

I will truly miss that guy and the show will Never be the same

:D :D  8)

Not to burst your bubble but your thinking of Bob Barker. Rod was the announcer that said "Come on down" ;)
