I'm in the UK and had it tonight instead of alcohol cos i was driving. Its ok, Irn Bru and Coke tastes better though.

Its far too expensive also, it cost me £1.80 for a can in the pub and its £1.00 in most shops. Rip off!

Red Bull doesn’t seem to get me up in the morning but at night it wakes me right up making it a full night of reading and surfing the web. I am so tired when i get up i am like a zombie. when i was in studies i sleep all morning in class not even waking up for the bell and Red Bull was never there to help me with that. So the best thing to energies me is sleep a good 14 hours of it no joke

I think Red Bull is discusting. Its smells and tastes horrible!!

I've been a bartender for 4 years now and the most popular drink I made was Vodka and Redbull, I hated the smell so much it used to make me sick!!

Thats in Australia by the way!

:? Red bull isn't alchoholic

Or do you mean you will never drink anything :shock:

Red bulls great, but three cans maximum people, more than that and you start to get all twitchy and excitable. Trust me.

I had a look through the ingedients and there isn't anything there to warrant a health risk, but I guess it's the sort of thing people just assume is bad for you for no particular reason...

I am actually addicted to caffeine - I was told by the doctor to stop drinking caffein because of a batch of weekly (sometimes twice a week) 10 hour migraines.

I lasted for a day and a half and then started getting really bad withdrawal symptoms. It's pretty worrying to be honest....

Why say coke "can" be addictive? Caffeine is an addictive substance. Coke will always be addictive unless it is caffeine free. Makes you wonder why so many kids are allowed it :?

well I have no idea, but inspered by the last post and a complete lack of anything useful to do I did some research. From a bottle of Sainsbury's Diet Cola downstairs:

Quote:
contains typically 10mg of caffeine per 100ml

from a website talking about drinks like Red Bull:

Quote:
The typical energy drink provides about 80 mg of caffeine per can

@250ml a can of red bull:

32mg of caffeine per 100ml

Coffee aparently can be 90mg - 150 mg per cup (call a typical cup half pint = 500ml, and average 120 mg)

@500ml cup of coffee=24mg /100ml

so clearly coke does have a much lower amount of caffeine per volume. Although it wouldn't suprise me if some kids drank twice as much coke as adults drink coffee, putting them nearly on a par with caffeine intake.

Then again I used to drink coke by the 2ltr bottle and that is where my addiction came from :lol:

Right, now find something useful to do.....

"because im buzzing "

^^lol Sorry. But where I'm from, that means very high or drunk. I never heard of any Red Bull energy drink though. I might need to try some because I'm always so dang tired.

@miss bee
Yes it has killed people, but so would drinking anything with too much caffeine. There are many things that will kill you in excess, if people are dumb enough to take stuff to excess then they deserve what they get.

It's also not a good thing to mix with alcohol as both are diuretics.

As i said on a previous post you don't wanna be drinking more than 3 at a time, I did once - imagine tigger on speed.
