I am small, I can be loud, I can be quiet,
I can be long, I can be short,
I can Be Metal,Plastic,Wooden,
I can be cheap, It can be expensive,
They are usually far off the ground,
But where can i be found?

What am I ?

its Nine [9] letters long but its in two [2] words....

so there could be many combinations example
1st word = 3 Letters
2nd word = 6 letters

You can find anything you want on Google *grins

http://www.slavehack.com/includes2/foru ... 2622&cat=1

That's the original riddle. You can eliminate any answer given in the 13 page thread, because on page 13 the poster said that no one had gotten it right yet.

Going to be hard to know if someone posts the correct answer here when BornLiveDie seems to be the only person who knows the answer *lol

"adjective" is 9 letters.

The author said there's seven [7] in the riddle. There happens to be 7 sentences or lines.

I think it has somthing to do with stuff like that.

This is easy: good spork

Small, loud, or quiet? Check.
Long or short? Check.
Metal, plastic, or wooden? Check.
Cheap or expensive? Check.
Usually far from the ground? Check.

9 letters, 2 words. Check.

Well, as I said, thinking laterally, "loud" does not always have to be defined in relation to sound. For example, I would consider this loud:

Image

Image

Image

And sail boats float "far above the ground" usually, in relation to the ocean floor being the ground.

They are small, relatively speaking to ocean liners for example, can be long or short, can be made of metal, plastic or wood. They can be cheap or expensive.

In essence I think it meets all the criteria of the riddle.

Granted. However, there are differences in "person" in the riddle:
Quote:
I can be cheap, It can be expensive,
They are usually far off the ground,

Which could indicate that the riddle was worded badly from the start, or this itself is a clue.

I actually don't believe "sail boats" is the intended answer, (primarily because it is typically spelled as one word, although grammatically it works, and can be found, as two words), but I suspect I'm closer to the correct answer, or at least headed down the correct path with my line of reasoning.

Quote:
I am small, I can be loud, I can be quiet,
I can be long, I can be short,
I can Be Metal,Plastic,Wooden,
I can be cheap, It can be expensive,
They are usually far off the ground,
But where can i be found?

What am I ?

its Nine [9] letters long but its in two [2] words....

Now, let me think aloud...

If I take the following as a main clue
Quote:
I can be cheap, It can be expensive,
They are usually far off the ground,

It says "I", "It" and "They" which may mean two things. It is either a clue to one object or objects with each meeting the criteria of those words. One is an I which involves a person, one is an "It" which the "I" uses and the other is "They" that "It" and "I" influence or something.

Going only along those lines it could be about anything but lets put that it is a Metal, Plastic and/or Wooden so that means we are determined to find the "It" part. The "It" can be expensive or cheap depending on ???

If you take the "I" part it can seem like it's bad "I can be cheap..." I don't really like the way this thing goes, but it can mean more things than prostitution. The "I" can represent a picture of a person, it also used a lot for riddles that mean an object (Such as "Who am I" riddles [Like this one ]

The question states "What am I ?" so if we look at it this way, we are actually looking for the "I" part. The "I" part can be small, and either loud or quiet. The "I" also can be long or short, be made of metal, plastic or wood and "I" is cheap as well... If we add in the "It" and "They" to "I" what can it be? Also, what "I" usually far off the ground? Some kind of bird? Although if that's true, animals are never constructed of anything other then flesh and bones (Well, and organs too).

Air Plane has being mentioned and said as bad, Sail boats was a "Great thinking" and A Symphony was... well... a symphony  Taking ATNO's idea that "loud" can be percieved visually or, taking on on that road, it can be taste, smell, touch... well, any of the 5 senses that human have... maybe 6? Such as consience or our instincts?

I can be cheap, I am on "It" which is expensive and "They" are usually far off the ground... any relationship with any of those things that may make sense? I guess I might be thinking too hard and too deep

Well, in my line of thinking it can be about anything. A car usually off the ground... not far but off... except the wheels, but the main portion of the car is... Atoms are usually far off the ground... I really don't have any guess... just giving this possible clues or whatever... Maybe I'm way totally off or something like that... Good luck finding out what the real and true answer is...

Quite possibly that the riddle was written badly :x :x :x

There are 8 possible ways you can put two words to make 9 letters...

x xxxxxxxx
xx xxxxxxx
xxx xxxxxx
xxxx xxxxx
xxxxx xxxx
xxxxxx xxx
xxxxxxx xx
xxxxxxxx x

I keep thinking automobile but it's too many letters and 1 word...

My thought

All this may not mean anything  Does the poster actually know the answer?

I wouldn't worry about this too much ... any person can make up a riddle like that and just say no to all the answers given and never give the answer ...
I can stink like old cheese,
I can smell like a bunch of flowers
I am the hardest object on earth
    Some days I'm the softest
I'm 10 feet off the ground when you're 10 feet away
    What am I?
Hint: 9 letters long, two words. The person who can crack the answer gets 1million dollars from me ...

try and figure this one out ... I will always say NO to what ever answer you give and I will never give the answer ... because there isn't one ...

I think the times he interchanged It with I were just mistakes and don't have anything to do with the riddle. I was the first to answer with "A Symphony" and I still think that's the answer. However told me that "A" can't be considered a word.

No the post still remains, Although I do have a account on the forum. Also I have contacted his " clan members " They say their is a answer but they cant tell anyone.

To be honest after looking at the riddle for nearly 2 hours. It does not make a lot of sense. Or it looks like it has been made up. Like people have said.

Press them for a release date. Tell them that it's only fair to the public that a date be given.

You know, this riddle does not make sense. To tell you the truth it's probably made up like said earlier.

The answer to this may seem ridiculously obvious, but guess what an answer of "spoon" to a hard riddle may seem obvious if it fits but so can many other words fit into the riddle. I can think up a riddle that fits one word... and so many others.

Answer: Spoon

You use me, I help you
You wash me, you dirty me,
Who am I?

If you don't know the answer, you may think, car, table, fork, knife, skateboard, boat, and the list goes on and on, while I'm thinking about a way different word.

It may seem obvious, but there are so many other answers that may obviously fit (Like a sail boat to the riddle of the original poster in this topic).

Think about it, sail boat obviously fits into the riddle perfectly (so does steam boat) and yet it's wrong.

Sorry to reraise this pain in the arse post, but a friend of mine suggested an answer, and as soon as I saw it, I honestly believe she has it correct. One of those so obvious you want to kick yourself

Her answer is Wind Chime

It meets every criteria.

I do believe I read that on the original post that I can't seem to find anymore and was discounted simply because the OP said it was incorrect. If you've got a link to prove me wrong I'd love to see it, because that's a pretty good answer.

I think wind chime is a perfect answer, it meets all of the criteria. I am sure his answer isn't any better than this if he really has one.
