hey Freakyp, cant you change your school's pc res?

Depends on how anal the admin is. On NT and Win2k+ servers the admin can nix the ability for users to change things including screen res.

1280x1024 is the optimal resolution IMO. I wish everyone used it.

I do too but my parents say why the hell is this so small. Leave it alone or your grounded. So i have to leave it at 1154x864 or i get grounded. Parents are mean sometimes.

i use this program too quickly change resulotions:
http://www.12noon.com/reschange.htm

i have two bat files setup with a keyboard shortcut to change resolutions.

so ctrl+alt+6 changes it to 640x480 and ctrl+alt+7 changes it back.

I have dual 19" trinitron CRTs set at 1600x1200. I'm trying to get budget to replace the CRTs with 19" LCD, so I don't have to irradiate my brain every day... but until then =]

currently I have 1200 x 1024,

But normally I sit at 1600 x 1200...

It really depends on what I am doing though and how late in the evening it is. I'll decrease the resolution maybe to 1024 x 768 just so as to keep me from getting a headache in the wee hours of the morning...Especially if I know I won't be going to bed because something is due for release the next day and I am ironing out the final problems.

(Amazing how, the scope of the project can change, but they refuse to alter the "go-live" date to accomodoate the extra work... - sure, I ain't silly enough not to charge for the extra work though!) ;):D
