Post 3+ Months Ago

When messing with our webservers, I always hate the timeout message people get.
I really want to set up a sitedown page.
The article shows how to display a sitedown IF the httpd/apache/iis is running, not if the server itself is down.

Our external DNS for www points to .90.
I then can change our firewall to point .90 to a different server internally than the webserver instantly.
That works for but not for, so I need to modify this temp server to automatically point to this error page specific to the domain.

I am thinking this fake server would have hostname direction and then using the methods in the article to point it to a page.

Anyone attempt this or know a more elegant way?
