I don't know what to think,

I know we should take with the proverbial pinch of salt what papers (media) write. After 41 years in the wilderness Cheeta (monkey) the comeback. Could he still be alive after all these years...?

He officially retired in 1967...

But Cheeta, 76, is back in the swing of things - to land himself a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

hmm. do chimpanzees actually live to the age of 76? seems unlikely. hell it's a fair life span for a human, with all the benefits of modern medicine....

oh wait look, he's the oldest one in the world. wikipedia says this:

Animals are quite amazing at times and always they surprise us with their resiliance in the face of adversity.

I don't hold with..captivity but with Orangutans going to the red list I have to admit captivity maybe, just maybe has its place till things improve.
