Has any of you been watching the Australian Open Tennis?

Having lived in Melbourne through the first half of it, i couldn't miss seeing some of it and infact this was the only time i've actually watched as much tennis. I love it.

I saw that Federer was knocked out, so i'm glad that we will have a new champ. What a set of finalists... Djokovic or Tsonga.

Who do you think will win?

I'm not a big fan of tennis, but I'm leaning towards Djokovic on the basis of him knocking out Federer.

If i recall correctly though, Tsonga not only knocked out Andy Murray but knocked out Nadal.

Nadal as you might know is ranked second in the world, or was ranked second.

I like both finalists, they are both good good players and the final will be really good to watch.

The match last night delayed the whole nights listings. Infact, after this longer than usual game was played they had 2 other games after that. I think the last game finished at around 5am local time.

I should put players names to the game, but at the mo i'm blank.

Just also want to congratulate Sharapova on her win of the womans finals. From the games i saw her play, i reckon she was always the better player.

as you can imagine, all of serbia is in a complete tennis frenzy these days, as it's been a long time since we had a tennis champion, and now suddenly we end up having a finalist in the men's, women's and doubles finals of the Australian Open.......... the popularity of tennis has gone through the roof, all the tennis coaches are busy and all the rich kids are taking lessons............ and all of serbia is staying up nights to watch the live coverage :D

now ana lost in the finals to sharapova (and fair enough - sharapova was better), but we're all anxious to see what djokovic will do.... I think the match is starting about............now?

They appear to be doing pretty good tonight. Long game too. I don't have it on the TV but if my understanding is correct then Djokovic needs to win the next set to win the open.

I was happy for whoever wins, but due to the fact that Tsonga beat Andy Murray in the first round i've been kinda routing for him a bit especially being unseeded.

Tsonga had no clue how to play "Finals" tennis. He looked great at times then like a total slacker the rest of the way. Crying about the way Djokovic was bouncing the ball too many times for him to tell when the serve was coming was kinda sad. Most times, (100/100), when the ball gets tossed into the air you can be sure the ball is coming. Djokovic was by far the better player

I think I do. On my first trip to Australia for the Open, I had some woman in Melbourne stop everything and show me how. :) I guess she could sense I was out of water on that one. :)

I love the stuff. I always bring some home with me, but pf course it has a shelf expiration date so it doesn't last forever.
The only thing you can get over here is Marmite, which is decided not the same.

I could order it online from Kraft foods international, but I was always concerned that they may be altering the composition to suit a different taste? No idea. Which reminds me I should ask those guys to bring me back some before they leave.

Cheers.

Great Aussie Food is one ... there's a few others out there that I can't remember the names of.

YUM! Now I'm going to have to go and do the same; I can't help but yet again bringing up my vegemite-filled Australia day :D

We're happy little Vegemites

As bright as bright can be.

We all enjoy our Vegemite

For breakfast, lunch, and tea.

Our mother says we're growing

stronger every single week.

Because we love our Vegemite.

We all adore our Vegemite.

It puts a rose in every cheek!

My toast was very nice thank you, Kelly. We've got a new toaster that takes four slices and, you guessed it, I used all of them to make my delicious Vitamin B rich vegemite toast.

OHHH I am so jealous I only have a little tiny 2 slice crappy 10 buck job. (nice Aussie lingo there)

I don't think I can eat anymore toast..

That gets me to thinking, Does vegemite sponsor the Aussie Open? Cos if it doesn't, it should!

I don't think it does, because all I heard him mention was shampoo and cars. But they should, most definately, 'cause vegemite's as Aussie as a Kookaburra.

8) I love vegemite on toast with melted cheese. When I worked in the US I often ordered from http://www.ozemartdirect.com and they saved my life. A bit expensive but I got my order in days!
