The story of the Hoyts is very touching. My heart melted watching videos of them in youtube. Dick never gave up on his son, and Rick is such an inspiration. Their relationship is bonded by unconditional love.

Wonder - it was 20 years ago? I guess the strong Dad is now..? hmm.

Btw, it's not a post made intentionally to make the eyes of programmers go teary - But remember we sometimes read now and then about how "How to regain motivation to build my website?" - "Losing motivation in a project I started...", "ETC"..

Well, This Dad never gave up, but what motivated him?

Very good post George, and very good topic.

I've been occasionally searching through YouTube for motivational videos and found there are a load of incredibly inspirational people around at the moment who deserve every bit of applaud they can get.

There is an Australian motivational speaker called Nick Vujicic, he was born with no arms or legs and grew up living a life where his family depended on him. He is very much into religion and believes God was sent him to earth to help people believe they can do things even with no limbs.

There are many videos of his on YouTube, there is one though i do watch from time to time which helps motivate me when i am in need...

I've recieved a few knocks over the last few months that has knocked my morale and mood to a low that i don't enjoy and despite having seen many inspirational videos it's very easy to forget the messages that are sent in videos like the one above. It's easy to accept defeat, not everyone really has the mental strength or belief they can attempt something again and again to achieve what they are after. If you are lacking motivation though, there are many videos out there that can quite effectively boost your mood and confidence.

I've thought about this more than I probably should, and I've come to these two questions.

Is the crowd cheering for the crippled boy, or his father ?
Who does the crippled boy think they're cheering for ?
Why yes, yes I am.

Joe, I think the crowd were cheering for both of them..CP - boy and his dad.

Second, I think he knew they were cheering for both of them..
