That's pretty much a daily occurrence for me.

Heh - that sounds like one of my brothers. The odd thing is, when it gets to freezing and below, he sheds layers, but as it gets into the 70s, 80s, and 90s, he puts on his sweater.

I don't think that's healthy...

I could not live with snow, seriously, I don't know how people do it! It gets to about 8-10 Celsius here in Sydney (when its really really cold, mostly in the early teens), in winter and I don't want to leave the house. I could not imagine going outside to see snow LOL.

You get pretty used to it, to be honest. I've lived in this climate all my life, but I have friends here who are from California and after a year or so the weather doesn't even phase them anymore. It becomes routine.

We have snow maybe an hour from Sydney up in the Blue Mountains, and the wind gets really really cold from it in winter. You have to remember how dry Australia is and the fact our summers are 40 celcius plus, almost everyday, so going from that to freezing cold, LOL, not good.

I agree with you here. I was in Australia from September 07 to Feb 08, with 3 weeks in New Zealand towards the end of my time abroad and i got used to the nice sunny warm weather. When it was time to arrive back home my first plane landed in London's Heathrow and for some reason we had to depart the plane from the steps onto the airport ground before catching a bus to our terminal. It was absolutely freezing, i mean it was unbelievably cold. I couldn't believe how cold it was. Turns out the temp was around 7 Celcius but because i had got used to the minimum temps of around 20C it was just unbearable.

I am used to the cold weather, our winters actually are not as bad as some countries yet we will get temperatures or around -10C in some places. Infact, when i was driving to my brothers for the new year on the radio they were saying that it was temperatures of around -20C in some parts of Scotland. Very much a contrast from a year before for me as my new year in Melbourne had temperatures of 41.1C and overnight temps of 35C.

As a follow-up from the original threads, we did end up getting a bit of snow but since then the weather has improved greatly with temperatures touching around the 10C on a daily basis. It feels very much like spring now too which is brilliant.

No you are not alone, where i live i have to travel 700kms to get near to the snow! so just imagine, maximum temperature of 40C and lowest of 22C... you can imagine how much i would love to live in the snowy areas!
