Next Tuesday is St Patricks day which traditionally in Scotland and the rest of the UK and quite possibly the rest of the world people tend to go out and have a few drinks...even if the day means absolutely nothing to them.

Seeming as this coming weekend is the nearest weekend to St Paddys day i imagine most people, more notably the Irish will be going out for a few drinks to celebrate it. On Saturday thousands of Irish men and women will be arriving here in Edinburgh, Scotland to see the Irish play Scotland in the Six Nations Rugby competition and will more than likely be spending the weekend in the city, therefore mean they'll likely be celebrating the 250th St Paddy day in Edinburgh.

Without knowing the above info until just a few moments ago i've arranged to head out for the night on saturday and just know it's going to be made even better now that the Irish are going to be in the city.

Gotta love the Irish!

Other than an excuse to drink and pinch people who don't wear green, what is St. Paddys day all about ? :scratchhead:

Not going to lie, other than what i've read on wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Patric ... at_Britain - i don't really know.

For some reason it's always been big here, even bigger than St Andrews day which is the day in Scotland that celebrates our petron saint. In saying that, last St Andrews day in Scotland was quite a big day too and for the first time ever i felt people were beginning to treat it the same way as they do St Patricks day - with unbelievable large quanities of alcohol and massive hangovers the next again day.

I'm going to a Flogging Molly concert tonight. We're doing a bunch of Irish Carbombs at my apartment beforehand :D

I love St. Patrick's Day... and I'm only half Irish, lol

I've driven past the engtrance of the golf course, it looks unbelevably rich which would make sense as it is "the home of golf".

Infact, the town of St Andrews is one of my favourite in Scotland although as you might imagine it's very touristy. Beautiful and well kept though which is nice to see. Not too far from where i live at the moment too.
