Anyone have experience with any of the timeline software?
I am looking to create a personal timeline to keep track of when we lived in different houses/jobs/etc, birth of relatives, etc.
A nice looking timeline that can zoom slide/etc but also what would be great is the ability to select from one point to another and it makes a bar that shows how much time expired between the two points..

So far I have seen beesomething for mac, and it didn't look like it did what I want.. but don't know if any will.. though it seems pretty easy to do something like that in flash/php? hmm

I would think that something like that could be done in Excel.

I looked at excel options, and not really elegant that I've seen.

Something like..
Image

Thinking of the islate/iphone/touch with ability to zoom slide, select one point and reference it vs today or between events..
and of course the ability to add images to the events when you click on one it does a popup window with specifics..

Excel can be made elegant but it takes a lot of work.

Do you need to do this for web? Or just for personal use on a PC / MAC?

Personally at first, was thinking just how long have we lived in this house?

But then seeing the lack of online/client creators for timelines, I thought of lucidchart.
Seeing how lucidchart nicely creates flowcharts, I would imagine that there would be likewise for timelines.

I imagine flash could be used to present it on the web, but then the motions are limited.. having a client would be more flashy..

Jquery could probably do it, flash a little better but heavier, and Air probably the best.\

Beedocs is nice, but no time measurement is possible, and it is not web exportable, just to keynote slides. Mac only, but not anything special for touch/slate.

Perhaps something web-based would have a lot of interest if made well.. if it isn't already out there.

Interesting idea, once I finish my database framework I might make something like this.
