If given the choice to buy traffic for your site OR advertise your site/product/service as a merchant on someone else's highly trafficked web site through an affiliate/ad network, which would you choose? :?:

Agreed. I would choose to fill my site with interesting and useful content to attract visitors.

I'd buy ad space, not visitors and promote my best features...the problem with purchased hits is that the user probably isn't interested as much as someone who clicks on a link

Last time I checked, we didn't have a problem with brand identification. :)
So, neither as well. I doubt sincerely anything outside the realm of our existing advertising campaign would drive much more traffic. ;)

An after thought though ... if you have an existing ad campaign that's doing really well ... a highly trafficked affiliate picks up your wicked campaign from an ad network ... and you get a 100 to 1000 additional sign ups per day (that you wouldn't have got on your own) equals  additional revenue generated.

Isnt it worth a shot? :?:

Have you had any positive results running campaigns via affiliate networks?
